I wouldn't worry about it. Babies are made to nurse to sleep, that's why it works so well :)

My daughter nursed to sleep for naps until she was 9-ish months old. And she napped in her swing until she was 8 months. She has always been a good sleeper and continued to be after she stopped doing the above. We basically just waited until she was developmentally ready.

We still nurse to sleep half the time (maybe a little less) at almost 8 months. Initially, she would just fall asleep during her last feeding before bedtime and eventually it became part of the routine. She *can* fall asleep on her own but we're both happy with the snuggles and quiet time together so I don't mind whether she's nursing during that time or not. At some point, we'll stop but I have no plans to force it.

Meh. My daughter napped in her swing until she was almost 6 months old. It really didnt end up being that big of a deal.

I was told many times in different classes before DS came that you don't have to worry about creating habits until 4 month at the earliest, maybe even 6 months! Do what works!

We nursed to sleep until it just didn't work anymore around the 4 month sleep regression. We ended up crying it out to go to sleep. We transitioned to all naps in the crib just a little before that.

So my LO is only 10 wks old but I'm already concerned that I've started off with some bad habits. One, I nurse to sleep at night. He usually gets very sleepy or falls asleep and then I easily transfer him to his crib. This works very well for us 90% of the time. I know at some point I have to stop doing this so he learns to fall asleep, without the nursing.
My second bad habit is letting him nap in the swing or on me. We've had some epic nap battles and sometimes I'm just so tired of it and I'd rather have him sleep by any means than not sleep at all.
So my question is if you did either of these things, when did you break the habit, and was it difficult to do?
