The first time LO bit me I was so shocked that I actually screamed and scared LO to tears. I gingerly put her back on my boob and she bit again! I was soooo scared but I switched boobs and guided my boob into LO's mouth and we were good.

Oh this is the worst. His latch changes every time teeth come in -- it's one of the dead giveaways. The first time his latch got really shallow, so BF suddenly became uncomfortable. He got over that in about a week. He bit me really bad once during that first round and I had to pump that side for a couple of days. Thank god for the gel pad soothie things.

I paid much closer attention for awhile as things got back to normal. I didn't let him linger on the boob at all because that was when he was most likely to try something. I also made sure to stay hydrated, because a slow letdown could invite some frustration, which might involve teeth. Now, at 11 months, it's generally not a problem, although he has recently experimented with raking my nipple between his teeth. He drew a LOT of blood the other day, but it was shallow and didn't hurt, fortunately. I just tell him NO and stop.

Ugh, I hated that. Little A is getting towards that age and I'm dreading it. Little S would kind of nip as she unlatched. Sooo anyone because it wasn't like I could take her off and tell her no. She was already off. Anyway, if they bite, nibble or in any way attack the nip nips they are done eating for a bit. Maybe she learned. Maybe she just outgrew doing it?

I also unlatched and said No firmly. It made LO cry. :( But after a couple of times he didn't do it again.

Oh, and everytime teeth come I. They sort of need to relearn their latch. So I would have some extra nipple soreness/blisters. But it is totally worth it to keep breastfeeding.

I would unlatch DD & say "No!" & then let her latch back on....it hurts & I'm sorry you're dealing with it because it is no fun, but I found that soon she realized that wasn't the way to get the milk :) I only got occasional teeth after the first couple of weeks.

Yeah everytime he bit it hurt and surprised me do much I screamed in his face. This scared him and he would cry but he stopped. Now at 1 year he doesn't bite on purpose.

When she starts biting down, say NO! firmly. And unlatch. Then give it back to her.
Omggggg.. brings back memories of painful biting and nipple cutting!
My LO was really good about not biting, but she always bit down when she was teething!
