Yep. I had the same thing. My doctor determined that they're just clogged ducts. It sounds pretty common but it's always good to go see your doctor so you can rest assured that everything is functioning ok.

I got a lump in late pregnancy and they did an ultrasound while they were looking at the baby and it was nothing - they said it'd get better with breastfeeding and it eventually went away.

Clogged ducts should clear in 24-48 hours, especially if you apply heat, massage, and nurse in multiple positions. If you've had the same lump for several days and can't get it to clear, it's worth calling your healthcare provider. I had a plug that hadn't cleared after 4 days of working on it, and my OB had me come in for a mammogram and an ultrasound just to make sure there wasn't anything causing the lump other than milk. You should also monitor for signs of infection. One of the midwives in my OB's practice said that sometimes you can get an infection without showing the symptoms of mastitis, which is another reason to check with your healthcare provider if you have a clogged duct for several days.
@miranlee: plugged ducts are pretty common. Definitely try to get it to clear by applying heat, massaging it, etc because it can lead to mastitis. Mrs. Bee has a really great post about plugged ducts (which I can't seem to find right now), and there's lots of helpful info on kellymom.com (http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/mastitis.html).

Yes. I had one that wouldn't go away after lots of massage and hot compress so I had an ultrasound done. They want to do a follow up scan after I'm done breastfeeding to make sure they are just clogged ducts

Hi all! The past few weeks I've noticed a firmer "lump" in my right breast. Since I'm breastfeeding it's hard to distinguish whether it's just a "full spot" (as I call them) or something that I should bring to my midwife's attention. It's not tender, I only notice it when massaging before pump sessions. Anyone else have the same thing? thanks
