We gave her breast milk straight from the fridge and bottled fresh from the breast. If you start early, the babies won't mind if the milk is warm or cold.

As for my frozen stash, I just put the bags in warm water until they weren't icy, then put them in the fridge to use as needed.

Maybe I'm mean - I also didn't buy a diaper wipe warmer :-)

@JoJoGirl: It depends. IF you are home its fine to just use a mug and microwave but for when you go out places a warmer really helps.

We borrowed one from my sister but never used it and my son was fed pumped milk exclusivley (ie always bottles) from 6w on. We just did really hot water in a bowl for 30 seconds.

We also got him to start taking it cold around 4 months.

LO will drink cold which makes our lives so much easier, especially when she wants a bottle NOW. When we do take the time to heat it up, we run it under hot water. Also, since milk is fine at room temps, I'll sometimes just get her next bottle out of the fridge when she finishes a feeding and let it warm on the counter.

We have a hot water dispenser and just fill up a mug with hot water. We stick the bottle in the mug and it heats it up within 3 minutes. Hot water works great for heating up bottles. No need for a separate bottle warmer!

Exactly what @Thehistoryofus: said! If you can train them to take it cold DO IT! Took us a while to figure that out.

At one point we wished we had gotten one, but that didn't last long. It would have gone into storage after a short period of time. I researched them, but never found a stellar review that made me want to spend the money.

Here is what we tried:

1. Serve cold if we could (easiest option that some babies are ok with).
2. Set out on the counter for a few minutes or run under warm water just to get the chill off
3. Bowl of water in the microwave.

Our daycare used crock pots and just kept the pots hot all day and dropped the bottles in as needed.
