I use Lansinoh disposables and Bamboobies. The heart shape pad is less visible through clothing. I use it when I go out.
I just got the Bamboobies overnight ones. I really like them.
Right now there is a 20% coupon for Bamboobies until end of Jan - NYNG20

I found the J an J ones to be the softest. I used disposable for at least 6 months. Then I switched to the bamboobies for night time, once I felt like my leaking was somewhat undercontrol.

Thanks for all the insight!

I checked out the Bamboobies at Babies R Us and whoa, $30?! I hope the ones I got at the shower work well for me but if not I may check these out. And I guess I'll keep my one box of disposables to start with!

I use the J&J ones because I have found them to be very absorbent and contour to me. I have the lansinoh ones too but they are flat. The nuk ones on several engourged nights I woke up soaked because the pad soaked through yuck. I had issues with oversupply though

I use the TL Care @mrskc: linked to. I do leak through them occasionally, but usually just first thing in the morning. They are so comfortable and I have not had a problem with them showing through my clothes. I do have some disposables and would use them if I were to be away from the house for more than 3 hours or if all my reusable ones were dirty.

I only used reusables (other than a couple sample packs of disposables that I HATED and made my skin break out in a rash), I bought a huge pack of cheap flannel ones on etsy, and a couple starter packs of bamboobies. Bamboobies are by far more comfortable, and super thin. I was going through a ton of them, so I just used the bamboobies when out and about, and the thicker flannel ones at home. You do need to change them more often, but even with a huge oversupply, I only needed nursing pads for a mont.

Bamboobies FTW!! Super soft and they lay flat enough so that you can't see them through your shirt. And they're reusable and super absorbant, worth the price in my opinion.

I've tried a few different kinds and Lansinoh was my favorite. I am on my 3rd or 4th box of them (60 ct)...I would start with one box of whatever brand/type you choose and then buy more if needed, once you figure out which ones you like best.

I found that reusable nursing pads weren't substantial enough for me at the beginning. At 6.5 months, I think I could probably get away with it now but haven't tried. I really only need nursing pads when I'm going to be out/miss a feeding, though I wear them all the time...so as others are suggesting, you may be able to do without around the house or if you don't leave the baby much! My preferred brand of disposables is Tommee Tippee.

I would buy sparingly. While I was pregnant I bought the huge 4 pack on Amazon, but when I started using them I realized that they hurt me really bad! I never had cracked nipples or any pain breast feeding, but for some reason the way they rubbed against me sent shooting pains through my boobs.

I had the bamboobies multipack on hand (4 sets?), but that wasn't enough those first few weeks. I probably soaked through at least 6-8 sets a day. I ended up buying a lot more, but after a few months, my supply regulated and I only use 3 sets a day. The day pads are thin and comfy. I Like bamboobies and Itzy ritzy, but I still wish I could use disposables for their convenience.

@tororojo: I have the bamboobies and like those as well. They are pricey tho. I also have these TL Care washable pads that I like. They show thru clothes tho so I mostly used them at home or while I was sleeping. When I leaked really bad I would layer the TL Care one then put a bamboobies on top of that.

@tororojo: I have bamboozle....they look like hearts. They came in a multi-pack with 3 sets of 'daytime' ones and one set of 'night'. I actually use the night ones in baby's cloth diaper sometimes now! I like that when they are laying around they look cute.

you really never know: I leaked sooo much and at 9 months PP, I still use my washable pads.
I burned through 1 box of disposable pads (can't remember what brand) so fast. They absorb a lot! My washable ones I needed so many per day and I was always running out of the washable ones because I leaked so much, but I would just use baby wash cloths in there instead as I didn't really have money to be buying things if I could get away without them.

I used the Lansinoh disposables too, but I was really hoping I could get away with reusable ones. In the beginning, there was a lot of leakage, so I would have to change them more often, and sometimes, the pad would get stuck onto my nipple! Ouch! Another thing was that I had to use nipple cream, and the cream didn't really wash off the pad well. It left a residue. I used up two whole boxes and had stopped leaking altogether when DS was 3 months old. Nowadays, I use the reusable ones if I'm feeling too lazy to change into a clean nursing bra/tank. :P

I don't like the Lanisnoh pads because of the individual wrapping. Too wasteful for me! I use Johnson and Johnson pads (with built in nips LOL) and have reuseable Gerber/Nuk (?) pads which I also like. They're cheap and not too bulky. I have some of those gel ones but never used them so I wouldn't get a lot of those until you get started. I have Lilypadz but I think those are better for once in a while, once you only have occasional leaks.

I would hold off on the soother gel pads. Or keep them but keep the receipt and return if u don't end up needing them. I had some on hand but never used them and ended up returning them. I like the lansinoh disposable the best, but honestly didn't like disposables in general. I ended up buying reusable ones from amazon and the bamboobies. The bamboobies don't really show thru clothes. If u are a heavy leaker, reusable might not be practical. I would hold off on those and start with one box of disposables to see what you like. I found the disposables itchy on my skin which is why I didn't like them. Oh and I wash my reusable ones in a mesh laundry bag.

I also use the lansinoh disposables, but the target ones don't bother me either. I don't use the adhesive strip, actually, so that wasn't a factor for me. I just tuck 'em in there.

I used those same reusable pads with the bag but had to toss them when we got thrush. I wasn't a huge fan of them, but they weren't terrible. Just a PITA when I forgot to wash and needed them!

I used Lansinoh "soothies" two separate occasions. From what I could understand, you use it for a certain amount of hours (it says on the package) and then toss them. You have to wipe your nipple off with warm water before nursing. I loved them when I had cracked nipples!
