@avivoca: so sweet. J is so wild and crazy anymore. Yesterday he was calm after work and then he fell asleep, I forgot what that felt like. I had to take a picture to document lol

@jetsa: H is sick and this morning when she was nursing she kept petting my other breast. It was so sweet, because normally she's kicking my arm and looking around at the cats or at a toy.

@JerricaBenton: My son would do the same thing! Any little hurt and he would nurse briefly for comfort.

My LO weaned himself last month at 29 months. I know I couldn't nurse him forever, but toddler nursing is so sweet. I really thought he'd make it to 3, and is it wrong that I'm sad that he didn't? He definitely made the decision, so it's good and ok. I'm just sad that my little boy is growing up so quickly.

So well put. DD is 10 months and even though I always thought I would wean at 1, I'm now thinking I'm willing to go longer if she wants to. It's definitely getting more uncomfortable now that she's so mobile and has 8 teeth. And with the fits she throw when she has to wait a minute or two...it is definitely so not about what I want!

@bpcmarj: totally agree! I don't understand how anyone could think it's selfish on the mother's part. Hope weaning goes smoothly for you.

I am trying to wean my 27 month old but it is so much easier said than done. She loves her milk and likes the snuggling part, too. When she is ready I will know. But it certainly, to me, is the farthest thing from selfish I have ever done. Selfish would be "Sorry honey, no more milk for you" and have her not know why and be sad and hurt that she doesn't get to have it anymore.

Awww love it! LO is 18 months and we're in an awesome nursing phase. She asks, she's quick and she's cuddly while she does it! She'll look into my eyes and rub my face, sometimes we'll explode into a giggle fit, sometimes she'll get hurt and run to me wanting to nurse and it's just the best feeling knowing I can soothe her so much. I'm really going to miss it when she's all done.

I much preferred nursing a toddler than a baby - for me it was much easier!

I loved this and it's so true :)

http://www.breastfeedbabywearclothdiaper.com/nursing-toddler-isnt-selfish

This is pre-toddler right now: Toddlers pinch, they scratch, they turn their heads and look around. They stand up, they sit down. They’re on, they’re off. Sometimes they bite, both intentionally and not.

I also liked this statement, "But just like any other life stage, you find a way to get through it, and even find parts you love, and when it’s over, it’s bittersweet, even when it was the hardest thing you ever did."
