i had a really hard time with this with DD2 and tried every kind of bottle and cup. I ended up using the "Intermittent Bottle By Mom" method. It takes some patience but it ended up working and it didn't matter what kind of bottle or cup it was once she started doing it. It took us a couple of weeks of trying consistently. Method described at http://www.nancyholtzman.com/tag/infant/

Go buy the take n toss straw cups. You can squeeze water or milk up the straw and squirt into the baby's mouth and it can teach them to suck out from the straw. It's how we taught my son who could not figure out sippy cups at all. After he learned how to suck we then left straw cups with handles filled with water on his high chair during meals and on the floor when he would play.

Need some advice. DD is almost exclusively nursed, except for the days here and there when I'm away. Because of this, we have run into the issue of DD not wanting to take a bottle, even when I am gone. She'll literally not eat anything until I am home rather than taking a bottle. We have tried using a sippy cup instead of a bottle and that is still not go. She doesn't quite understand how to suck out of that yet. So, any advice as to how to get her more inclined to take a bottle? Do I start while I'm home? Refuse the boob, just offer a bottle? Any other thoughts?
