I talked to my dr about it and what she said to do (and it's hard to do this because your reaction is to just take them off) is pull their face into your breast so that their nose airway is cut off. They will instinctually unlatch because they need to breathe, then you take them off the breast. My Dr said that it is very unpleasant for them (but not hurtful/harmful) and that most babies will eventually stop..

Hopefully that helps!

So glad my boy never tried to use his teeth! The only time he tried biting me was actually once I was pregnant again and I think I had almost no milk, so he was getting frustrated and trying a new technique!

Yikes - I'm afraid of this. M has no teeth yet but a few times she chomped down slightly. Not painful - yet. But I'm sure it would have been if she had teeth!

The first time my son bit during nursing it was such a shock. It was right before bed and I was nursing him down, it was quiet and dark and soothing and then all of a sudden he chomped down and the swear words that came out of my mouth were not pretty (and they were loud!). Of course that scared my son so he started crying and we had to reset the whole nursing session. He only did it a few times but dang they hurt! I sympathize and hope your baby learns not do bite soon.

I yelled no and took my boob away a few times. Thankfully she stopped! She'd bite whenever a new tooth would sprout though.

Hope your Lo learns not to bite soon!

Ok so if we are supposed to feed our babies until at least a year evolution should have made it so they don't get teeth until then. My 9 month old has six teeth already and she knows how to use them. I feel ridiculous saying the things I have tried to get her to stop. I have stopped her from eating and put her down, I have yelled no, I ever have pushed her face a few times. The latter is out of reflex. When she chomps down I am always shocked and kind of grab my nipple away sometimes pushing at her face. Its really hard not to react that way when it hurts so bad. I don't know what else to try. I wanted to make it a year but I am so sore I don't know if we will make it. She has only had like one bottle in her life and hated it. I am running out of ideas.
