@MsBAM: Yes very normal. My LO is 13 months and refuses WM. Doc said for my mom to offer it or DH. He associates me with milk because I still nurse at night. So I would say normal! Just stay consistent and keep offering.

@MsBAM: also totally normally (and pretty frustrating). But babies aren't that different from us- sometimes they want crunchy, sometimes they want sweet. Honestly, they re so fickle and fussy. I always thought I'd have a good, non-picky eater but my guy "does what he wants" with food. My doctor said one good meal a day for toddlers is good. My son is 2.5 now so some advice for down the road (not like you asked :-) ) I have had decent luck eliminated junky snacks. I just can't have them in the house. He's hungrier at meals. I also always present veggies first so he takes a few bites. And if he doesn't eat healthy stuff, well too bad, you ain't getting that bowl of cereal or cheddar bunnies.

Totally normal. My 20 month old rarely drinks any type of milk and still nurses (tho prob not getting much anyway). She's a great eater but just does not want milk (on occasion she will chug her sister's milk if she steals it)

@MsBAM: this happened to us! My son was a total boob monster and we nursed am/pm only from 13-24 months. But even though we offered cow milk he wasn’t interested. He is now 3 and still doesn’t drink milk. He likes cheese and yogurt so it isn’t really a problem.

From 11 months until we weaned at 16 months, DD wouldn't drink breastmilk from anything but the source. She'd just have a little bit of water at daycare. I had to throw out so much frozen milk!

My thirteen month old does the same thing. I decided it’s fine. The pediatrician thinks we should offer whole milk while I’m gone and breast milk when I’m here. She may or may not consume the whole milk. She’s a good eater anyway.

@pachamama: Okay that makes me feel better. I’ve been struggling with solids (he has a texture issue) but he does eat. On a side note, the few days he prefers to eat fruit and not other stuff he usually eats like toast etc.. Could this be a phase?

@MsBAM: totally normal. Wouldn't you prefer the boob to a bottle  ? My son never drank as much for the bottle as he did nursing. As long as your son is eating other foods at this point I would not worry about it.

Hey!!

I went back to work a couple months ago and didn’t wean my LO. He’s 14mo now. When I’m not around, he barely drinks any milk. He’s been offered breast milk and homo milk by bottle and sippy cup when I’m gone. At bedtime if I’m at work, sometimes he takes a few sips for my DH, or like an ounce or less. And he doesn’t drink much for my MIL during the day either. Is it normal for a BF baby to do this? It’s like he waits for me to get home or something?
