I was sore in one side for about 2 weeks. I got DD's latch checked and it was fine. I think sometimes pain is normal.

One side was more painful for me, and took longer to feel totally ok. For me, the painful side had an inverted nipple.

Could just be normal, or for me, when this has happened, it's usually a bleb or milk blister. If you gently put pressure behind the nipple, so milk almost starts coming out, so you see any white spots that look a bit swollen? You can google pictures for a better visual. If you think that's it heat, especially a hot shower, can help loosen it up, and starting on that side so baby sucks more vigorously on it.

Sounds pretty normal to me at 10 days in. No two breasts or nipples are exactly the same. One side for me was always super painful during latching. Like I'd have to clench my teeth and cringe each time. It got less painful sometime around 3 weeks. Hang in there mama, it'll get better!

Is it just during latch/feeding or also sometimes after? It could be early signs of thrush if its like needles. But since its during latch, I would think its just one side more sensitive than the other. You can try to let the baby latch the pain-free side first just so the latch isn't so vigorous before moving to the other side?

I've been breastfeeding for 10 days now and on the right side feel back to normal, no pain. But the right side I still have an intense/sharp pain on latching for like 10 seconds? I don't see any scabs...not sure what would cause this or how to improve? I've tried different holds and the pain feels the same.

Maybe I just need to have a LC watch his latch on that side?
