I warmed the milk in the medela bottle or lansinoh freezer bag then poured it into the drop-in. This was disastrous once when Wagon Sr. forgot to put the drop-in into the bottle and poured an entire 8 oz all over the bathroom counter in the middle of the night.. hehe.

We are going to use platter drop ins too with BM.
When I nannied I had to hold the Baggie of frozen BM under hot runnin water and it very quickly melted. Dono if you milk is in baggies or storage bottles though

For refrigerated milk, I just pour it into the liner, put the cap on the bottle, and then warm it up in a bowl of hot water.

For frozen milk, it depends...sometimes I let it defrost in the fridge overnight and then it's usually ready to go by morning and I'll pour into the liner to heat up. If I need frozen milk right away, I put the bag directly into a bowl of hot water, gently swirl it, and it usually defrosts in a couple minutes. Then I pour into a liner and make sure to give to LO right away instead of putting it back in the fridge.

Hmm, I have a couple Medela bottles of BM in the fridge, then frozen milk in Lansinoh bags. For the bottles I feel like it'd be easier to just heat and use those, but maybe for the frozen milk my mom can heat defrosted milk in the Playtex bottle. I'm sure I'm overthinking it, but it's her first time watching LO overnight and I think it's gonna be a loooong night for her!

Same here - we just drop the ice cubes in the drop in liner and then put the bottle in a container of hot, not boiling, water.

Now that DD takes more ice cubes at a feed than we can fit into a bottle (in their frozen state), we use a jar that has been sterilised for defrosting the milk and then pour it into the drop in. Works brilliantly.

For those that use Playtex bottles, how do you heat the milk? Do you heat it first, then put it in the drop in, or just heat it in the drop in? and how?

My mom is watching LO tomorrow night to give DH and I our first baby free night and want to make it as easy on her as possible.
