Mine is creamy yellow if I have a good pumping session. It has a tiny hint of blue if its only fore milk.... My pumping has been really off lately....

@anbanan15, same here... noticed that when I pump runnier milk it tends to be bluish but when it's the rich, creamy kind, it's more yellowish. Once, I had so much fat in my milk that most of it solidified like butter! Haha!

Mine has been more bluish lately, but I think the change cab be atributed to my diet. It's also more like skim milk which is either from the diet or the fact that DS is getting older and doesn't need as much fat from my milk.

Mine is usually creamy white, but I have had pink (blood from cracked nipples or broken capillaries inside the breast), as well as purple! (This was when I was using gentian violet to treat thrush.)

As for blue, mine sometimes takes on a faint bluish tint in the beginning, but will turn creamy white after a few hours in the frige...so, the opposite of Bee.

My BM was yellowish at first but after a couple weeks, it was more a creamy off white color. I always saw other moms dropping off their milk in the NICU and their milk looked really yellow and I thought that was weird but I guess it's normal. I didn't know.

I voted other because I have both colors! When it comes out it's usually yellow, but occasionally comes out blue. Also, like Mrs. Bee it usually turns blue in the fridge. It's not smurf blue or anything, it just has a slight hint of blue. :)

interesting. with my first it definitely was on the yellow side. This time around it usually just stays white, but that's probably because we don't leave it in the fridge for long at all. she always gets really fresh milk and usually straight from the source.

@BabyBoecksMom: Mine always has a yellowish tinge to it. Sometimes it's more noticable than others. I really notice it when I'm pouring extra milk into my milk freezer tray and different pumping sessions are side by side.

@Mrs. Bee: A day old to be blue? I'm checking my milk when I get home.

So my husband and I were talking right after I gave birth that breastmilk can be yellowish or bluish. We both were hoping that mine was blue, but alas, it's yellow. What color is yours?

A quick check with Dr. Goolge says breastmilk can be several diffferent colors.
