Not sure how your LO is acting, but could it be a growth spurt? My 5 month old just went through one and was eating a ton overnight (more frequently and just more milk each time), which meant that I had much less than normal during my morning pump sessions (like 3 oz instead of 6-7 oz). I think it may finally have resolved after about a week. I was pretty stressed about it though. Btw, if you think AF is coming back, that's another big reason for supply to dip, and luckily that is usually quite temporary.

Did you eat any foods that decrease your supply? I only did formula so I remember eating a ton of peppermint patties after having my kids in order to help the milk subside.

I agree with pp's to nurse as often as possible. DS was in the hospital for 8 days, 4 of which he was intubated so no nursing, just pumping.. my supply got soo low, we're talking half an ounce from TWO boobs after pumping for an hour! Once he was able to nurse again my supply came back.. It took 2 days of pretty constant nursing but it worked. Good luck.

My supply also plummeted when I started ovulating again - like almost by half. I had heard that it went down, but was really surprised at how much. During that time I nursed as much as possible and supplemented from my freezer stash. It always came back up after my period.

My supply took a huge dip when i ovulated. I'd just keep nursing as much as you can and it will come back.

Put her on the breast as much as possible. Co sleep if possible. If that works for your family she can nurse all night long. Eat a huge meal (like 1000 calories minimum), drink at least 100 ounces of water, and take 3 fenugreek 3 times a day. Your supply will be back in no time. I wouldn't pump, just nurse.

Also, you might want to pick up a pregnancy test and be careful if you're not trying. Pregnancy and ovulation cause sudden dips in supply

When I started taking 2 fenugreek capsules twice a day, my supply increased. It made the biggest difference even though I'd been incorporating galactalogues daily.

I've also heard great things about golacta/moringay supplements.

You're doing right by putting her to breast and pumping frequently. Your body will respond to empty breasts. The moment they fill, empty them. If you don't, it sends a message that you don't need the milk. It's very physiologically based. I found it fascinating learning about it. Good luck! I hope your supply goes back up.

Help!
I'm on vacation and my supply plummeted overnight. I normally pump while at work and early morning and get 3 oz per breast during the day and 5+ at the early morning.;DD drinks 4 oz per feeding, or just one boob.My husband feeds her a bottle before bedtime, usually 6-7 ounces.

However I flew to visit my parents on Thursday, and my supply is soooo low. I pumped my early morning and got 1oz! DD has been starving all day and waking hourly to feed at night. I pumped after ever feed today (5 times) and only got 5oz!

im drinking plenty of water and ate a ton of galactologues today ( oatmeal, arugula, chickpeas) and tomorrow I'm going to get fenugreek.

What happened?!? What can I do??
I'm about to get formula!

(DD is 5 mo old for reference)
