DS2 is almost 14 months. He's been off bottles and drinks cold milk during the day at school, but I give him warmed milk in the morning and at night. I know he likes warmer milk and I personally have a hard time with ice cold milk in my stomach first thing in the morning, so I do it. Bedtime I warm it just because he's had a long day and likes the cuddles and snuggles.

We are actually having a hard time switching to fresh milk. DS1 had a long transition too. Neither had any issue with the flavor, but WCM gave both boys raging acidic runs that peeled the skin right off their butts! We did toddler formula with DS1 for a while and with DS2 we are at 50/50 Nido Kinder and WCM (and still dealing with rash so we will be on this mix for a while).

OMG - I just realized I read all your replies but never said thank you for the advice!

Once we started warming up the milk the LOs actually drank it. We did skip the cocktail stage and went straight from BM to cows milk switching one bottle, waiting a few days, then switching the next....

My job over the next two months is to wean off the warm milk and wean off the bottle so that in September they will return to daycare drinking cold milk out of a regular sippy!

Thank you again, and sorry for not writing on this thread earlier!

We went cold turkey to cold cows milk, BUT we added a drop of chocolate syrup (I know, but it worked so well!) for the first couple bottles. There was so little it didn't change the color, but both kids slurped it down and then transitioned easily to just cows milk.

We just did cold turkey. I put formula in sippies for meals and then I eventually just switched to WCM. I wouldn't bother heating it up, and don't stress about how much they drink.

We did cold turkey but had stopped warming up bottles when DS started daycare, since he was happy with chilled or room temperature. Does she like CM? It may be a BM vs CM transition issue more than a temperature one if she doesn't like CM at all.

We did a gradual switch like you. I would take BM from the freezer (stash was all I had to work from) and prep it like usual. Then mix with the the WCM. So I guess the temp ended up being the same gradual shift as the type of milk though it wasn't intentional.

I mixed them for a short period of time but LO didn't seem to care
I do zap bottles for 20-30 seconds, but I only do that so the straw cup doesn't leak. It's barely room temp. She will drink it cold but I haaaate cleaning up leaked milk. So I nuke it for 30 seconds.

I did cold turkey cutting of breast milk at 13 months and warmed the cows milk just at bedtime for a few months because I found she'd drink more of it and a bit quicker.

We switched cold turkey and didn't have an issue. We also didn't warm bottles. Both LOs were EBF.

We did cold turkey. Once we made the transition, I didn't really worry about my LOs getting a certain number of ounces. I switched over to the mentality that they should have three servings of dairy a day (a serving of milk is only 4oz) and LO was still nursing morning and night and eating yogurt and cheese. I offer milk at meals and sometimes she drinks it all and sometimes she drinks none. She has a cup of water available throughout the day. If your LO is growing well, I wouldn't really worry about volume of milk.

We did cold turkey... I feel like mixing it is so weird! But hey, whatever works!

And due to Chinese way of thinking that people in general should not drink cold things (esp girls), my mom always warmed up bottles for my DDs and we warm up DD1's cow's milk too (she drinks in the morning and after dinner).

My boys were both formula fed by that stage, so we mixed formula and cow's milk. First 1/4 whole cow's milk and 3/4 formula, then 1/2 and 1/2, then 1/4 formula 3/4 wcm, and then only milk.

The baby will be drinking 100% wcm by tomorrow!!

We did cold turkey, but we weren't warming up bottles either. I should say daycare was serving LO warm bottles, but he was fine with cold at home and that's what we gave him. Our transition was more of drink WCM at daycare until we run out of formula (ready to feed) at home. One weekend we gave him milk every other bottle at home.

When you start mixing BM and cows milk to transition over to cows milk - do you still warm it up?

My daycare is encouraging me to go cold turkey and switch one bottle for cows milk but my daughter is drinking less than an oz. So I am thinking of back tracking to doing the 3/4 BM + 1/4 cows milk and then increasing ratios of cows milk plan that I've read about on here. But I'm wondering how the transition happens so she doesn't always need warm milk...

THANKS!
