You both made me feel better about an RCS if I don't go into labor on my own by 40 weeks (assuming the baby isn't breech). I signed a consent form for trial of labor, but I didn't realize success rates start dropping once you are to term. Add that to the list of other reasons why I don't want to go past my due date! The closest they were able to get to my due date is 39+3. </p> <p>@gotkimchi: Thank you! My recovery was easy the first time, so it's nice to hear about recoveries the 2nd time.</p> <p>@erinbaderin: Thanks! I'm also guessing being away from my daughter will be harder for me than for her. I can cry thinking about it! My 2nd and third were vertex but I had C sections with them. The RCS was a great experience just like my first one was! (Such a stinker!) I was pretty anxious about it, especially because I had a mama's both who wanted to be carried all the time. We started teaching him to climb into the crib from a stool, and I would just sort of slide him in and out, and we told him I couldn't carry him down the stairs for a bit. My husband was home with us for three weeks, though, and we kept B in daycare, so that definitely helped, and also I definitely did not follow the restrictions. I have become obsessed about the position of this baby and RCS/VBAC. I had such a great c-section experience with my daughter. Since it's what I know, I would like to just have the exact same thing happen again, BUT... I don't want to have restrictions on lifting her after the c-section or staying away from her longer than I have to. I think they were always breech - with my first my midwives had been saying he was head down and I had an ultrasound at 39 weeks and he was breech, but I didn't feel any big movements so I'm pretty sure the midwives were wrong all along. With my second he was breech from at least 34 weeks. From what I understand having one breech baby doesn't make you any more likely to have a second, though.
