@deerylou: I gave some of those wooden puzzles to my brothers and dad one year, and they were surprisingly popular. At least until they had all figured all of them out. I'm still basking in my one year of success...

It sounds weird but my dad loves these books called Bathroom Readers. They're filled with cool stories, history, fun facts, funny stuff about dumb criminals, trivia, etc.

Some other ideas would be a mini leatherman keychain tool (although I think they're $25) or a movie I think he'd like (or just a theater/redbox/netflix gift card),.

Giftcard to Amazon or a bookstore, a book on a hobby for FIL? Last year I got FIL a book on Joe Dimaggio and he still talk about it (he's a huge Yankee's fan)

I love Red Envelope... they have good unique gifts. This page is all under $30

Some of the things I've gotten for my husband's stocking:

One of these brain teaser/bender wooden puzzles
Oatmeal and stout scented soap
"Matte for Men" protective chap stick
Some novelty pens for his desk at work (he works in a pharmacy, so I got him pens that look like medicine capsules)

For your nephew, you could always get him an iTunes gift card, or a gift certificate to the movies so he can go on a hot date with his new gf ;).

Perhaps a book of puzzles or interesting facts for FIL? What about a nice, framed map that your father could mark, according to where he's traveled?

The last couple years I bought a nephew that age a couple of things in that range. One year he got a Nerf basketball hoop for his bedroom door, and the next he got an adidas gym bag that I got on sale onto which I monogrammed his initials.

Men are so hard! We got a jambox for my in-laws but wanted a little personal gift for each of them. FIL got an iPhone this year, so I got him some of those smartphone-friendly gloves. Does your dad enjoy a drink? There are a bunch of vintage shops in our area with antique and cool decanters and bottle openers.

Since your dad has no real hobbies, maybe a book of random facts? I don't know if they have a Weird Virginia book (they have a weird Kentucky one and I think it's a series). For your FIL, Poppin has neat office supplies and such, but maybe it's only girls who are obsessed with cool office supplies.

I'm in the same boat, maybe I should take my own advice. Why are dads so hard to shop for?

Giftcard/cash has been decided for the 14 year old nephew. All he wants are expensive shoes or an Xbox One so I'll contribute to him purchasing those on his own!

For my mom and MIL I got little gift sets off Etsy that have bath salts, lotion, and lip balm for $14. A smaller set (just lip balm and salts) for my sister (I think for $10?).

We need something for the men. My FIL, dad, and nephew.
Nephew is a basketball player, obsessed with shoes and video games, just got his first girlfriend, is in 8th grade, and he is turning 14 in January. FIL is 72 can't eat anything fun because he's a colon cancer survivor and diabetic, he works from home (in sales). My dad usually travels internationally for work, but he has been home/unemployed for months now due to a broken foot. He's a smoker, no real hobbies, impossible to buy for.

What on earth can I give these guys? Something in the $10-$20 range would be ideal.

I want to finish my Christmas shopping YESTERDAY!

ETA: Both sets of parents are getting a photo book of LO's holiday photo shoot and a plate of homemade cookies. Sister and nephew get a plate of cookies too.
