Hubs was REALLY opposed to bringing it, but I insisted and I'm glad I did! Logan's a camel, so he only peed once while we were at the in-laws, but he went on the little potty!! And that was despite wearing a pull-up all day, just in case! I'm so impressed! He even stayed dry on the drive home and went again on the potty when we got home! Yay!

Bring it! We went on a train ride before Halloween that included a stop at a pumpkin patch. One of the first people off the train was a Mom and toddler and she busted their potty out in the middle of the field. 😂

Bring it!!! I don't know why but my son will only use the little potty when he's in someone's house. He's fine on a regular toilet in public.

We are 6 months into training and I will bring a little potty with us when we travel. He can use it himself which helps SO much. I will keep it outside of the down stairs bathroom at my aunt's. It's so easy to travel with and worth it. He will also use it at rest stops instead of going into the public bathroom. Or if he has to go right away it's easy to use on the side of the road.

We keep a potty go-kit in our car. Its a large wet bag that we shoved a potty ring into. There's a pocket in the front and we have wipes, 1-2 pull ups, and an extra pair of underwear. We also have a diaper bag with diapering stuff for DS2 and extra clothes for both kids that we always keep in the car.

If you're driving and have room, I would take it. We traveled about a week and a half into potty training, and bringing the potty with us seemed to work well.

Maybe a little weird but worth it! :) I have brought the little potty and the on-top-of-the-big-potty seats to the in-laws a few times, or even sent them with DD when they took her for the weekend. And left one of the big potty seats there for her to use.

@Adira: Not at all! And if he's cool with standing...bring a travel potty! I have one for DS and it's saved my ass more than once! My dad lives pretty far too so it's a life saver!

@erinbaderin: @gotkimchi: @bubblegum: @petitenoisette: Thanks you guys!! The in-laws are about 1.5 hours away, so we're driving, so I could definitely put the potty chair into the trunk to have there. I just wasn't sure if that would be super weird, hahaha!

I would definitely bring it or at least order an extra seat insert that you can leave there.

I would totally bring it! DS was a stander so we made sure that my in laws (whose house we were always at) had a kiddy urinal. We also had a travel urinal and if we went to visit anyone, we brought a spare with us. A lot of work but I can't tell you how happy I am that he's trained!

I have in law issues but we took the little potty while they babysat and we went out to dinner. My daughter used it but they didn’t empty it and left it full for us. So that was fun. But if you’re going to be there I found it not a big deal to take and it def made things easier

We took it when we traveled - it's just easier to use what they're comfortable with. Depending on how annoying it's going to be to transport it might be easier to just order a new one and have it delivered to the in-laws? Or get one of those seats that makes the toilet seat toddler-sized, which is more compact.

My youngest is about a week into potty training and we're going to my in-laws for Thanksgiving. At home he has a little potty chair that he seems pretty comfortable with. At daycare, they have small toilets for the kids to use. Should we bring a potty chair with us to use at the in-laws just to make sure he's as comfortable as possible in a new place?? It'd be annoying to bring, but I'm wondering if it might help since he's still learning?

Thoughts? What'd you do if you had to go somewhere during the first couple weeks of training?
