We do a lot of painting and craft stuff outside, as it's so much easier to clear up and I don't have to worry about him being flamboyant with his brushes! I wouldn't take playdoh outside in the summer as id worry it would dry out quickly.
Watch out for sand if you have any, I let my DS take all his little hot wheels cars into the sandpit and it took me a lifetime to get all the sand out of their interiors!

Anything but stuffed animals can go outside- blocks, books, art stuff... We don't have a yard so DD doesn't have a lot of outside toys so she gets bored playing with the few we do have pretty quickly

E's favourite game is "swimming", where her water table becomes a swimming pool for her little people. When they get out, they're really cold so they wrap up in towels made of kitchen roll - then they go swimming again.

Painting outside is great fun. We use wallpaper (lining paper) and make painty footprints. You can also mix paint, washing up liquid and water in a bowl, blow bubbles in it with a straw, then put paper over the top - it makes a great print.

@SugarplumsMom: Yes, I did something similar, last year i brought out the play kitchen since my son didn't seem interested in it any more. Once I brought it outside, he fell in love with it and had a difficult time putting it in the recycling bin at the end of the summer!

Always. We have a patio she can take any toy she wants out onto as long as the pool isn't being used and the hose isn't on. We play board games on the patio!

We kind of do this, I always bring stuff out for when we sit by the pool. It could be stickers, card games, paint and paper, etc. Even board games would be fun outside.

I am also going to bring out my son's old tent. I think he'll love that.

My son always brings inside toys outside. He'll bring cars and trucks or action figures. We even let him build a train track outside last summer. That was a huge hit.

Do you ever bring indoor toys outside for your LO to play with? The girls are already bored with their outdoor toys and it's only mid June! I was thinking of bringing things like Play-doh or art stuff out to play with on the picnic table. Or Little People to play with on a blanket, things that could easily be wiped down if needed. I don't know how exciting it would be since they play with it inside, but maybe the change of scenery would help?
