@shellio: yeah I like the kind we have, but more so I'm wondering if it will still be good when we get home anyway. So, if I dump it at the airport or dump it down the sink in a week, does it matter? May as well try.

I do plan to fill her water bottle up after security.

They've never given me a hard time about any liquids in kid type containers, even including water (which I forgot to dump). If you have a milk you like, just put it in and try, sounds like it is hit or miss and you're prepared to dump it if necessary. We just like the milk we buy so we have done the same thing.

My DS is dairy free and I have the hardest time finding him a snack that isn't just sugary candy inside airport security, so I bring stuff, but once I had oatmeal in a regular ball jar and they were not going to let it through because it was liquid-y. After I told them it was non-dairy because he has an allergy they let it through as "medicine" but recommended that next time I store it in smaller containers.

I've taken milk through, no problem. It totally depends on the mood your TSA agent is in ;)

I've never had a problem getting milk through security in a foogo... They just opened it and waved a test strip near the top, or put the thermos in some sort of light scanner machine.

@autumnlove: i packed individual almond milks, told them they could not open it because it would go bad so they tested and patted me down. wasn't an issue.

for regular whole cows milk, i would buy through security.

I've never had a problem getting liquids through for LOs, even in straw cups or kiddie water bottles, but it probably depends on the mood of the security person.

I've done it without problem.....but then the foogo leaked all over my diaper bag on the plane when the air pressure changed. So much mess. I won't pack liquids anymore.

For me they've just tested whatever I put in a thermos/bottle - takes a few extra minutes at security.

I find that anything you can do to make the container look babyish/childish helps! For example, I've had regular bottles of water taken away from me when I brought them to mix with PediaSure, but when I put that same water in baby bottles or straw cups.....no problemo! If your thermos has a sticker or kiddie name label on it, that might help your case!

@Foodnerd81: oh wait! We've also brought LO's food in her metal thermos container. So I don't think milk would be an extra problem, it would just require that test.

I've never had a problem bring our milk (hemp milk) in straw cups. if you have a doctor's note, you can also bring food (because my LO is soy and dairy free) that is liquidy, like once I made a pudding, haha.

But it always required that one parent get a pat down--I always volunteer my husband. ;-)

I've done it, no problem, in a metal Foogo. I also bring food for my son in the food container style one.

Typically, though, I prefer to travel with sealed milk and food. That means if we need milk on a flight, I bring a sealed "juice box" style container of Horizon Organic milk. It's not my preferred method since it's not whole milk, but it works in a pinch.

I was wondering about this since my LO is lactose intolerant and she won't drink any milk subs! :( I know I can usually buy lactose free milk at a grocery store when we get to our destination but prob not at the airport!

I had no problems taking milk in a thermos and water for the baby through security. It just needs to go through separately. Security were really great with baby things.

Has anyone brought milk in a foogo thermos through airport security? I know the liquids rules are relaxed for babies, but it just occurred to me that the metal thermos might pose an extra issue? I figured it would be the best way to keep her milk cold on the flight.

Not the end of the work if we have to dump it but would be one extra thing...
