I kinda like the second one and then use a lighter shinny gray curtain like what is pictured. The dirt and fur would be less likely to stick to it...maybe?

@rainbow sprinkles We are trying to stay away from super light colors because of the animals (2 dogs & 1 cat). We do our best to keep them off the bed and away from the windows but it doesn't always work. Our white curtains in our living room have a brown ombre look to them now (ewww) we have new ones for the living room, I just haven't hung them up yet.

I wold do that bed spread but pillows in different shades and patterns of purple. As for the drapes, I would stick with a neutral, like a pretty white or off white since the walls are a vibrant color. And if you do a dark drape the room would seem really dark and small. I love sheer white curtains but I don't know if you want them to keep the sun out.

DH & I have read a few times now that purple is the color of passion & people who have purple themed bedrooms tend to have more "passion" in their lives. Here a link to one of the studies if your interested.

http://www.medicaldaily.com/articles/12217/20120919/color-purple-spice-up-sex-life-sheets-silk-health-relationship.htm

With DH's chronic back pain couples with beige bedrooms are getting it 2-3x's more per month then we are. Which makes TCC really hard to do. So we thought we would spice it up a bit & bring some sexy back into the bedroom!

Remodeling project #328 here we come! DH agreed on purple walls. We have a cracker box for a bedroom (11x11) so I choose a color lighter than what I really wanted, this is what color we are doing:
http://www.homedepot.com/Purples-Lavenders/Paint-Paint-Colors-Paint-Samples-Color-Posters-Paint-Samples/h_d1/N-5yc1vZbuckZ1z13o8j/R-202182447/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051#.UJaB_8UqaAg

My mom is buying us a new bedding set for our 2nd anniversary (cotton). We are doing this today!!! I am excited we finally get to have something nice now that the dog is over his chew on EVERYTHING stage. I just don't know what to get to go with the purple! I thought about Gold, found this at Kohl's, I just don't want all of it to be gold, maybe some accent red pillows? What would you do keep the gold or accent with another color. Must add that we will have to pick out new drapes as well (our bed is placed in front of our windows) so we could just pull in another color that way...Maybe?
http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-c24912/simply-vera-vera-wang-interlocked-bedding-coordinates.jsp

I am always second guessing myself when it comes to picking out coordinating colors and patterns so any ideas and suggestions would be great!
