@Anagram: we registered for the City Mini because I liked it better when I compared the two in store. If you go with the Britax B Safe infant car seat Baby Jogger makes a special adaptor just for it which only costs about $25.

@Meggo5: I love how high up she was with it. I'm tall and bending over to get to her in our little Graco Mosaic we used as a carseat frame was a PITA.

For those of you who used the Chicco adapter with the City Mini (or GT), have you felt that it makes the stroller pretty big or "tall"? We had the adapter at first and planned to use it, but the whole stroller felt too large for me when our son was a newborn and when I was learning all about how I would get around with a stroller. We opted for a snap and go system which was very easy, but now that the weather is getting nicer (hopefully!), we want to be outside more with the sturdier stroller (currently in the closet waiting to be used!) and are considering getting the adapter again. I'm wondering how you've all liked this?

I am in Canada :) I'm going to keep this post in my favs so that when the time comes if I need your help I know where to find you. I really appreciate all your input, it's helped make my decision very easy! :)

@tysonja: You are describing my friend's sitation with the adapter exactly. She even brought it into the store and they told her to just use the straps, which is why she ultimately returned it (the adapter, not the stroller) and got the snap and go instead. How annoying!

I'm really keen on the City Mini too, although I've got my eye on the GT model since I also want the height-adjustable handlebar (DH is over 6ft and I'm only 5'3")... I'd read the same thing about the 'uprightness' of the seat - BUT I also read about some people using bungee cords looped from the frame around the back of the seat to pull it into a more upright position!

@Grace: It looks like the 2011 model supposedly comes with "upright straps" now which do pretty much the same thing as you found mentioned on Amazon; as detailed in the video here: http://www.strollerguru.com/2010/10/14/update-on-the-new-2011-baby-jogger-city-mini/

i think you might be in canada, right? i am too -- it's annoying how it is so difficult to find certain (correction MANY) products here, eh? :)

i bought mine in store at http://www.tjskids.com/ in Vancouver, but depending where you are you could call around to other baby stores that may carry it. If they have it on amazon that would be best, i think! If you guys decide to buy it and have trouble installing it, please feel free to msg me and i
ll get my dh to explain more clearly -- i know the majority of ppl online had trouble putting it in the first time, as did we, and there are lots of bad reviews. in fact the people instore didn't know how either and tried to convince me that it doesn't snap in and to just use the saftey buckle. IT totally snaps in and just requires a bit of adjusting the first time you put it in, after that i never had to touch it again.

so sorry for threadjacking a bit, but maybe the info will be helpful for other chicco carseat users!!

We went with the City Mini for our good stroller but got the Chicco Caddy frame for a short term stroller. I think it is so much easier than messing with the adapters. It ended up costing just a little more but is well worth it in my opinion. Maybe look on craigslist for a frame stroller? You might be able to find one that costs the same as the adapter.

@MamaG: oh noo!! This is exactly what I'm worried about--the not-being-able-to-sit-up-straight thing. That was written in a lot of Amazon reviews, too.

BOO! They both have positives and negatives....and I guess I just feel like it depends on you and the particular baby, and you don't know if your baby will like it till you've already bought it and used it a while

I was worried about the B-agile not sitting up straight, but when I compared them in the store, the City Mini did the same thing! I found this fix on the internet for the problem. Perhaps @MamaG: can try it and tell us if it works. ;)

1) The seat in the most upright position is not upright at all. It's still at a pretty significant angle. My son likes to sit up and look around and he simply can't do that w/ the B-Agile in it's manufactured state. With that being said, I was able to rig the straps that adjust the incline to make the seat upright. Basically, I take the 2 hanging straps in the back of the stroller and wrap it around the frame. Then, I take the D-shaped rings at the end of the strap and fit them in between the snaps that connect the seat material to the frame of the stroller. It works very well, except you have to unsnap the rigged straps before you collapse the stroller. Not a huge deal, but Britax should have made a more upright seat, like the 2011 BJCM velcro strap option. (from http://www.amazon.com/review/RXGY08257JMLP/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#RXGY08257JMLP).

we have the city mini with a chicco carseat (@.twist.: they have 2 different adapters. one is the 'universal' one for graco etc, and the other is specifically for chicco. there are lots of bad reviews online about how it doesnt fit right but that's just because the instructions that come with it are not very specific. it actually works GREAT (snaps in easily and very sturdy) and we love it!).

we love it and use it all the time! :)

I do know you can buy a car seat adaptor for the city mini, however, I'm not sure if it's universal. From everything I've read it is only compatible for a few other brands (I could be wrong but I can't find info to state otherwise). I want the mini but I am getting a Chicco car seat and so far I can't figure out if the Chicco will work in the adaptor.

Strollers are difficult.

ETA: Just read through the comments and it looks like the city mini adaptor works with chicco as well. So, I guess I've made up my own mind about it! LOL. Good luck!

We have the Britax B-Agile and I HATE that LO can't sit upright. LO is almost 19 months and I really don't want to buy ANOTHER stroller. That is my one and only complaint about the Britax. We mostly selected it over the City Mini because of the curved bar in the back and my DH's longer foot stride. We did not use the car seat with the stroller. We bought this stroller after we got tired of the large Graco travel system stroller we had (but at least it sat upright!).

We have the City Mini and LOVE it. We used the infant seat adapter for the Chico Keyfit and it was very secure. I love how well the City Mini drives and its SO easy to fold up while holding LO.

I tested the B Agile in the store, but ultimately chose against it because it was harder to open/close one handed.

We have the B Agile and have very few complaints. I looked at the City Mini as well and went with the Britax because of the travel system. I didn't want to have to buy a bunch of extra parts.

The basket is kinda small and hard to reach, but it's not a huge deal for me. LO is only 9 months so maybe she's not old enough for us to notice the not-stting-up-straight thing but so far she seems to be fine in it.

A couple other pluses for me was that in the back there's no bar across the wheels, so I'd be less likely to kick it. DH is 6'4" so I think it's better for him too. And the brake is only on one wheel (the right), not both like zippylef mentioned. I think it's super easy to open and close, though admittedly it's a little difficult to open with LO in my arms (though I didn't test the City Mini for this).

Really, you can't go wrong with either. I'm happy with our Britax and see us using it for quite a while.

I have the City Mini and the carseat adaptor and I LOVE it. I "test drove" both at BBB and I liked the feel of the City Mini better.

They are VERY similar, the City Mini had a couple pros over the B-Agile though.

-Rubber grip on the handle vs foam, the rubber feels more durable
-the adjustment on the straps is extremely simple with the clips
-Basket is bigger
-Brakes are super streamlined (just one pedal in the center vs one on each wheel)
-Easier to unfold one-handed because the Britax has an extra latch on it. I can easily unfold it with one hand while holding C. HUGE plus for me.

I used the infant seat adaptor with our Snugride and, yeah it's $60 extra but that wasn't a big deal for me. Go to Buy Buy Baby with a couple 20% off coupons and that will more than make up the difference.

We have a city mini in sand and love it. We had the adapter for LO's infant seat and it worked fine, but we mostly used the Moby or Ergo just because we preferred to babywear. It is smooth to push, easy to fold up and I LOVE the huge canopy. There really isn't anything I dislike about the stroller itself. The only downside to the city mini is that everything must be purchased separately...we did purchase the child tray and parent console, but nearly 2 years later and we have yet to use either.

Have you looked into the City Versa? This is a contendor for us along with the B-Agile. We really liked the "pivoting" handle on the Versa, but can't personally comment on the other features you mentioned.

I haven't actually used either, but the one biggest complaint I'd heard about the City Mini is that the carseat adapter was really flimsy and didn't seem secure, but I have heard they fixed that on the latest model. My friend skipped the adapter altogether and got a snap and go type base for the carseat instead, but she didn't do a ton of walking (suburbs, walking to and from car more than strolling for miles on city streets).

It seems like they are very similar and sort of personal preference (they look really similar and both have one handed folds), BUT just from reading reviews from Hellobee and Amazon, these are my major concerns about both:

-Britax B Agile:

Cons: Reviews say the basket is smaller and less accessible (not that big of a deal). Most reviews mention that it does not sit up very straight, which makes it very uncomfortable once your child is older than a baby and wants to be able to sit up and see out. *many* reviews on Amazon mentioned this. Also, because of this, the child tray doesn't really work because the child is too far away from it to use it. Boo. (is there a pad or something you can buy and put behind the child when they are older, so they can sit up straight?)

pros: The travel system--big pro in my mind. The higher kick bar in the back.

-Citi Mini Jogger:

Cons: Need to buy a converter to put an infant car seat in it...so, added expense in the beginning stages. That's a big con to me.

pros: slightly more headroom. Some people say handling is better. Appears to sit up a little straighter for when the child is older.

Both: Everything else seems fairly equal. WHY can't they just make the Britax sit up a little straighter OR have a travel system for the Citi Mini jogger??? That would make my decision so much easier!!!!

I also found this thread on Amazon that compares the two---but is there anything else I should know? http://www.amazon.com/forum/baby/ref=cm_cd_pg_next?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=FxSKWDWQRZ03WU&cdPage=2&cdThread=Tx2CO2B2V69N45G
