We have the regular, older B-Safe. Ours goes up to 30 lbs and 32 inches.

We've been really happy with it. We have the B-Agile stroller, and I love how easily they fit together.

My daughter is 8 months old and is 20 lbs and almost 29 inches. She's gotten too heavy for me to carry in the seat, so I just keep it in my car permanently for now. I've bought a Marathon Clicktight that we need to install instead.

We had a Be-Safe. Umm, DD is 16 months and just hit 22 lbs at 15 months. And I switched her to a convertible before she was even a year old b/c I just hated the bucket seat and it wasn't like I needed to transfer a sleeping baby or anything. We also love the Britax stroller and how convenient it was to snap the bucket onto the stroller!

It's perfectly fine to have 2 bases and 1 car-seat! That's our set up since DD would be in my mom's car.

Personally I would not buy a used seat from an unknown source.

The other difference I've heard about is the way that the old BSafe has the belt guide for a seatbelt install without a base.

I would always get the lower weight limit option. I made that FTM mistake of getting a seat with a high weight limit, thinking I would use it till then, but as soon as my son hit around 22 pounds, we put him in a convertible.

The lower weight limit should be fine. I was never big on taking the seat out of the car. My 8 month old is still only 16 lbs, and I already dislike carrying her in the seat.

I also agree with pp's that I wouldn't recommend buying a used seat unless you know the background. It would make me nervous and wouldn't be worth the savings to me. We chose to buy a cheaper infant seat, knowing that we wouldn't be in the car as much with an infant, and spend more money on a convertible seat.

The lower weight limit should be fine. I may be wrong, but isn't kijiji selling used items? I would not recommend buying a used car seat from someone you don't know and can't trust to ensure its never been in an accident.

@stiletto_mom: I agree with pp, DS is barely 18 lbs at 10 months and I stopped carrying him around in the carrier. As it is, the Britax is pretty heavy (compared to the chicco.)

I have a Graco SnugRide 35 and definitely did not use it until she hit 35 pounds. She's 2.5 and would still fit in it weight-wise but outgrew it in height a long time ago. We switched at 9 months.

Also, I would caution you against buying a used seat, especially if you don't know the history (like if it's been in an accident). They may be expensive, but a new seat is much, much safer than a seat that has been in an accident or has expired.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I think we'll be going with the 22 with two bases. And if it expires in 2019/2020, it would be great to resell it afterwards for a little back too!

@stiletto_mom: we just had two bases. If I remember you're in Canada and will likely have a year off? Then you won't have to worry about each car having a seat for drop off/pick up if different parents do it. Might need two convertibles though when the time comes.

I agree as well. We have the Britax BSafe and we were happy with it. The serial number should be on the car seat so you could check to make sure it wasn't recalled and it's not expired. I would be nervous buying a used car seat though as you don't know if it's been in any accidents. I have never heard of that site though, just assuming it's used gear!

And you just need one seat and two bases.

Thank you~

We were thinking of getting one, and having two bases (one in each car). Is that okay, or am I missing some reason why I may need two separate seats?

Yeah, I agree w/ @Mrs. Champagne: - go with the cheaper one. We have the Britax B-Safe and we just switched DS to a convertible at 9 months (and ~19lbs) because it's just too heavy to carry.

Once my son was around 20lbs I could barely carry him in the bucket seat. I only had a 22lb seat (a Chicco) and I'm not sure what the draw of a 35lb one would be. Like he's 28 pounds at 2 years old. I can't imagine using a infant seat until 35 lbs! Or even past 20! We switched to a convertible around 7 months.

I was surfing my local kijiji looking or the Britax B-Safe infant car seat and realized after inquiring on a few, that there are two versions.

The regular B-Safe that people are selling for under $100 but only goes up to 22lbs, and the 35 which goes up to 35lbs but costs $200+.

Now, how much of a difference is this? How much more "usage" will I be getting out of the 35? Is it worth it? Or should I go with the 22, and then upgrade to the Marathon (which I plan to do) as baby gets bigger?

Also, should I be wary of which 35 has the recall on it?

Can we also have two bases (one in each car, and just one car seat)?
