I don't know the full details but I had a friend growing up who had knocked her 2 front teeth out when she was little and had some sort of fake teeth put in so as not to affect her speech. My memory is super shaky cause we were little, I just knew that she could wiggle them out and in so I don't know how they were applied. This was also like early 90s so who knows what's changed.

Hi, I don't have any personal experience, but my nephew knocked out one of his front teeth when he was 3 and has simply been sporting the gap-tooth look ever since, waiting for his grown-up tooth to make an appearance. He's 5 now. I assume his new tooth will grow in next year or the year after. Don't know how this would work with two missing front teeth, though. GL to your nephew!

Hello-

My nephew is 1.5 yo. Yesterday he had a bad fall: he had to have 4 stitches on his tongue and broke his two top teeth. The poor kiddo is a late teeter like everybody in this family and only had 4 teeth so far. Now the top two teeth are not just chipped, they are gone.

Anybody had to deal with an injury like this? Did it affect your LO’s feeding? How about his speech development? Did you need the help of a speech therapist?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. My sister is rightfully so pretty freaked out. She also lives in a part of the world where she doesn’t have access to a ton of medical services so that makes it even harder... thanks!
