My almost 13 month old just had it too. His breathing was labored a few nights ago and it sounded wheezy so we made a trip to the ER to make sure his lungs and oxygen levels are okay. Thankfully both were fine but I still visited his peds office for a follow up visit since it was a Friday. His breathing is better and no more fever. Do tots said it'll take a week or so for the coughing to go away. Hang in there and hope he feels better soon!

It'll be okay. My DS had it at 9 weeks (first week at daycare) and with breathing treatments he was fine.

@Tidybee: I'm so sorry :( it was so nerve wracking when he was sick! I think he was completely better in about 2 weeks? Once he started breathing treatments he improved almost immediately and kept getting progressively better little by little. I hope your sweet girl is feeling better already!

@Running Elley: my little guy had RSV and brochiolitis a few weeks ago and he got an antibiotic for a mild ear infection and the breathing treatment since he responded well to it at the doctors office. We noticed an IMMEDIATE improvement in the sound of his breathing and way less wheezing. He actually handled the treatment really well at the beginning of each session and got squirmy near the end. I tried to have youtube videos ready for him to watch or if the nanny or hubs was there one of us would hold a book in front of him and read. We only had to do the breathing treatment for 3 days.
I freaked out about the RSV thing at first too and it passed really quickly and he got so much better once we did the breathing treatment.

I'm so sorry :-(

DD had pneumonia a few months ago and had to have an inhaler every 4 hours until her lungs cleared up. We switched between Advil and Tylenol to keep her comfortable until the antibiotics kicked in. It's sad but the inhaler really helps and she was acting more like herself in just a few days

@Running Elley: It took her a few weeks to get over the pneumonia. She also had bronchiolitis in April and it took her a week and a half to recover.

Hang in there!

:-( I'm so sorry. My LO had bronchiolitis and pneumonia in November. She hated the nebulizer and it was really hard giving it to her at 11 months...I think your LO will respond better since he is younger!

I hope he feels better soon!

LO was diagnosed with bronchiolitis at the ped office today. He was given a breathing treatment and she said that he responded well to it. She sent us home with a prescription for an inhaler to give him every 4-6 hours. We have a follow up appt on Monday.

I'm a wreck and need reassurance/tips from other moms with LOs who have been through this. My anxiety is at an all time high :(
