@HabesBabe: we didn't even buy a bedding set. Especially because we wouldn't use most of it. We just bought separates, sheets, a crib skirt (which you really don't need), and breathable bumpers.

Brown and green will be very pretty for either gender!

Yes absolutely! We did 2 shades of green for the walls, dark brown furniture, brown and pale pink bedding, and jungle theme on the walls with green, pink and a huge brown tree. We ordered a wall decal with her name on it and that's pink that sits over her crib, and I think the room looks fantastic

@PawPrints: I agree with pawprints.. the gender doesnt have to be the determining factor. we plan to have neutal bedding and neutral stuff for the baby

That's exactly what we plan on doing - brown and green. If it's a girl we'll add purple, if it's a boy we'll add burnt orange. The owl theme goes for either gender, so we're doing owls too. :)

I always knew that I wanted browns and greens.. (so we could use for all of our future children!) so we painted tan, brown sheet and sage green bed skirt... Since our LO is a girl we added a bit of pink and even some blue and went with a bird theme. It goes really well with the brown and green!

I really don't get the motivation behind decorating a nursery to focus on the baby's gender at all. Why that one aspect of the baby over any other? It seems so strange. Decorate your nursery however you makes you happy, the baby isn't even going to notice.

[ETA] Personally I think green and brown would be adorable, and you could go bananas with woodland critters all over the place. So when the baby *is* old enough to notice the decor, he/she can enjoy all the animals. Kids love animals.

We did brown and green for a gender neutral nursery, and I love how it turned out. My LO is a girl, but I think by switching out some of the accessories it could easily be a cute boy's nursery too.

@cyndistar3: if those were my wedding colors, I would totally do it in that theme... just because I'm cheap and can reuse some wedding decor. HAHA.

@cyndistar3: I'm trying to think of some gender neutral nursery ideas, too... I think we're leaning more towards some bright color combos (like red & teal, or red & orange), but it's so hard to find bedding!

Would you say brown and green is gender neutral and could I add in pink to make it more girly or blue to make it more boyish?
