I did, it went away after the baby came, it wasn't a problem other than looking weird.

@mediagirl: It just freaked me out because I've had the linea negra since really early on (like 12 weeks!) and then BAM my belly button changes color in one day! DH asked if it was from the boys kicking... I said if that were the case, my entire belly would be purple at this point!

@MamaMoose: My belly button is kinda weird in that I've had two surgeries with my belly button as an access point (laparoscopic) so it hasn't looked normal for a while lol... I guess if I have felt like I've grown more even in the last day or two, there's more pressure on the veins there, right?

The things our bodies go through for our little ones! I'm just waiting for my belly to explode with stretch marks next!

I'm not there yet but I would guess the discoloration is more likely just from the fact that your veins are more noticeable rather than from a bruise. It's probably just hard to see the line of the vein inside your belly button.

Yep! As soon as my line showed up, my belly button started getting darker. It does almost look bruised. It's weird, huh? I was told it's totally normal. Of course, for a while, she was kicking/punching me in the belly button so I thought it was from that. :) I think it fades like the linea nigera does.

I lifted my shirt today to show DH that I think I'm looking a little bigger than even yesterday and immediately noticed that the inside of my belly button is darker, almost like a dark brown/purple color. It wasn't there this morning when I woke up. There's no additional pain (just the normal stretching sensations I have).

WTH? Anyone else have this? Does it stay this color or does it go away?
