Their rates are better than the other discount sights because you have to sign-in (it's free). I just stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago in their Tower Suite for $235 (including tax and fees). SO I would find a flight deal first (and be open about where you are willing to go) and then look for acommodations second. Paying for a slightly more expensive flight to a cheaper country will also help you save money on food/accomodations/entertainment overall, I think. </p> <p>My husband and I once scored rt tickets from DFW-Veracruz, MX when AA started a new route there for only $99 each. When we got there we stayed in private rooms in hostels and traveled all around.
