A friend of mine with five managed to get in and said it was the only way they’d afford taking all the kids just for fun like that. </p> <p>With three kiddos, I’d have saved around $75, so we checked it out. I expected a line, so we went an hour before opening with some snacks, books and go fish. There were easily a thousand people there already! No thanks! We found some friends in line, took the voucher and hit the carousel. Until July 15th you (anyone with an account, I mean) can print a voucher for $15 off one build a bear friend except those excluded by the pay your age promo.. But that was hardly mentioned anywhere and just made this whole thing look like a failed publicity stunt. However the promotion was shut down hours after opening due to violence and chaos to staff and shoppers. </p> <p>I'm kind of in shock that grown adults can't hold it together long enough to get a discounted bear for their children. Maybe I shouldn't be as shocked as I am, but come on people! </p> <p>I feel bad for the children that were promised something and didn't get it and also for Build a Bear who was trying to do something nice (but obviously should've thought of better security). </p>
