@pui: I agree. Public offense against someone calls for a public apology. Maybe he'll realize how it feels now.

I am not a huge fan of public humiliation punishments, but I applaud parents for taking a stand.

You see a lot of parents lashing back at others for calling their kid a bully...so i don't see this as a bad thing. Yes, not really the best way to discipline your child (is child shaming the new spanking?) but i give him kudos for at least trying to get the message through to his kid.

@Mrsbells: I dont really like public shaming, but I would definitely do something if my LO was a bully. I'd be so dissapointed!

I don't think it's that bad a punishment, really. In fact it's pretty fitting. He humiliated people and his punishment was a taste of his own medicine.

Still, I can see why he got flack for it. I hope he also made the kid apologize to his victim(s).

A 4th grader was caught bullying and his father made him stand at the corner with a sign that said "I am a bully, honk if you hate bullies" The father received a lot of criticisim for it.

What do you think? I think it is definitey better than doing nothing and most parents dont even want to acknowledge that their kids are bullies.
