Thanks at @aprild, I am leaning towards getting the Indie twin. I think it better fits our needs, even though it is a beast. My toddler just asked to go for a walk with the Bob this weekend so he is someone that still enjoys the stroller and I am afraid that he will ask once he sees the baby in it (similar to @kemma).

I have the Bumbleride Indie Twin for my two boys who are about 2 years apart. We use it for trips to the zoo, botanical garden, amusement parks and walking on the greenway. I really like how easy it is to maneuver and the big seats are great, because my 4 year-old can still sit comfortably in it. He's old enough to walk if we go somewhere for short trips, like to the store, but if we're spending the whole day at the zoo or Disney World, he gets tired fast. It is a beast, but my husband is typically with me when we use it, because we mostly use it for family outings, and he lifts it for me. I don't regret the purchase, especially since we go to Disney World every year. It's worth it just for that trip alone. My boys are both comfortable in the stroller and it still fits through a standard doorway.

Thanks everyone! I think I may try baby wearing and using our single bob until I figure out our needs. I wish the bob was better for infants but that stage does go by so fast anyhow that if I can get through it then the bob is a better fit. The MB is out due to the size of the seats.

We had the indie twin. My kids are 2.5 years apart. The youngest was born in late May, in Texas, so babywearing was not going to happen. My oldest also loved the stroller. We were in an urban neighborhood and mostly used it walking from the house. I did load it in the car for the zoo and other trips, and it is a beast, but most doubles are. My oldest was also big, so he wouldn’t fit for long in most other strollers. I agonized a lot of the purchase, but we were really happy with the stroller and we used the bassinet for the first few months. We did occasionally run with it, however, it is not great for running. Ours would be almost four years old now, so perhaps improvements were made since then. If I really wanted a running stroller and could babywear for a few months, I would go double bob. I suspect that the stroller runs better with twins, meaning two kids if similar weight riding side by side. I think the weight differential on the tires made the stroller shake. Other than the running issue, we loved it. Loved that the seats and foot rests independently moved and loved that huge sunshade. Loved the bassinet option. Oh, and the huge easily accessible space underneath. There was a lot to love that beat out the Bob, but not for running.

@agold: we love the chariot. it rolls super nice and smooth -- and I actually like that in normal stroller mode (not bike trailer or running) the footprint of it is rather small since the front wheels are basically right under the front corners. It's well thought out in terms of storage/ease of switching attachments, etc. The fabric is nice, and it comes with the rain guard. And, the main reason we ended up with Thule over Burley, it does collapse. While it's still a monster/heavy, it is actually relatively easy/possible to fold it flat if we were to take it on a road trip or needed to better store it.

All this to say, we are in an "urban neighborhood" so we have a house with a garage (and actually a walk-out that used to be the garage of our old 1940s house!)....but it's also incredibly walkable to schools, many parks, bike trails, shops, the library, etc. And we have 3 kids (5, 3, 1), so a big stroller is both not too much of a pain (basically storing it unfolded, rarely/never putting it in my trunk) and also a necessity since some combination of kids needs/wants to be riding in it often!

@MACSUNSHINE: FWIW my oldest two are 2.5 years apart and my oldest was (and still is) perfectly happy to ride on a buggy board or ride her balance bike if we were walking somewhere like the park or to preschool).

@agold: Personally I think any of the big monster strollers are a waste of space and money in the burbs. You don’t need fat tires and a huge storage basket for things like the mall. It’s also SUPER heavy and I couldn’t imagine getting that in and out of my trunk for errands, especially by myself. Especially as a double!
We had a beach house for a year when my son was 8-20 months and I NEVER took my Vista when we were there. I still walked into town on sidewalks with him every weekend and weeks when we were there alone and our umbrella stroller was fine for that. Not a double, but still - the Vista would have been so cumbersome.

I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want a side by side at a mall? Malls are huge! And all of the stores have big entrances. I wouldn’t want a side by side in the city because of sidewalks (sometimes they are narrow and crowded) and store fronts/shop entrances (narrow) and even in the stores/restaurants (small space, Cant fit next to a restaurant table, narrow aisles in the grocery store, etc). But in the suburbs I would think that a side by side wouldn’t matter much.

Bottom line, I’m only keeping the Vista because 1) we already have it and why spend more money 2) I walk miles every day so the good tires are important, especially in winter 3) I can put the ride on board for my 3.5yo and avoid doing a full on double. But prior to getting pregnant and when we thought we might be done at one, I folded that thing up and put it in a closet. We didn’t use it for close to a year I’d say.. I started using or Zoe stroller for school and errands because it’s just easier to get in and out of places and navigate through crowds, even though the tires suck in comparison. I only JUST started using the Vista again late in pregnancy because it’s higher and easier to push and steer, and therefore a little easier on my back.

If/when we leave the city and have stroller aged kids, that thing is GONE. I can’t wait to be done with it!

@SweetiePie: I'm just reviewing the responses to this thread and want to know about your thoughts on the vista! I'm in the suburbs and currently have the cruz. Going to need to upgrade to a double so I was going to get the vista. This is a stroller that we plan to keep in our car and use for things like the mall and out and about. But then I like to have a second "exercise" stroller for walks/jogs around the neighborhood that I keep in the garage. I already think this sounds like too much stroller. But I can't imagine walking around the malls and places like that with side by side jogging stroller. Can you please just tell me your thoughts because I'd love to consider alternatives and possibly save myself some money.

@MACSUNSHINE: I have the cruz, also! I didn't think in a million years I would have a second child close enough to my first to justify purchasing the vista. Well.. now here I am with two girls 20 months apart. I'm also concerned about the comfortability of having the tandem. I suppose if I was mostly on dirt and gravel roads, then I would skip the uppa baby for sure. Even with considering my jogging stroller purchase, I'm looking for something sleek looking in case it ends up being my main stroller. At least the Cruz will have good resale value if you decide to sell it. I'm considering putting it in storage in case I want to use it once my big girl gets even bigger. Ugh. So hard to know what to keep and what to get rid of. I got rid of a mini pack and play I had for my first and now I'm kicking myself.

@KayKay: How do you like your thule stroller? I'm consider the more stroller type that thule has, not the chariot, But I'm curious if you have happy with Thule in general. I'm really excited about getting the thule double stroller based on what I've read and seen.

@macsunshine: we had the indie twin and loved it. i had buyer's remorse over not getting/researching better to end up with the duet, but i saw a family with one at the park and it looked so small (seats looked so narrow!). which i suppose is good if what you want something not very wide, but maybe not so good if you have big kids (i don't, but still). i also jogged some with the indie twin, and it was not quite as nice as my single bob (i'm a fan of the hand-brake), but decent!

ultimately we ended up selling the twin because we got a thule chariot (double) for biking and got the running attachment. so there was too much overlap and i could resell the twin for enough to make it worth it! if you have any thoughts about biking with multiple kiddos, i'd consider just doing the chariot right from the start! main downside is that it wouldn't be great for air travel...

The stroller game is so tricky! And the cost adds up quick. If I wasn't measuring ahead this pregnancy and didn't have a tall/heavy toddler at home the MB would be the one.

I was considering the mountain buggy duet because of how narrow it is. But I actually want it for jogging and read reviews stating it isn’t great for jogging. I did not look into car seat compatibility. I decided I will get the Thule double stroller. It has amazing reviews and seems to be compatible with most all car seats. I’m just hoping to find it at a local consignment shop before paying full price for it. It seems less bulky than the double bob. I use my single bob a ton so I know I want a double of something similar. I will be using an ub vista for my normal stroller and really don’t want to pay $2k for strollers.

@MACSUNSHINE: hi! No my link isn’t for the Vista. It was for the Mountain Buggy Nano duo. It’s a lightweight travel type of side by side.
But then I saw your post about the terrain and maybe it wouldn’t work after all.
I hear great things about the citymini GT single AND double as well.

We are in the city and I refuse to have a double :silly: They just seem too cumbersome. My son is 3.5 and when this baby is born in a few weeks I plan on him just using the boogie board attachment to our Vista! And he loooooves walking. He has seriously walked 2+ miles round trip no problem.

@mrsbubbletea thank you! That is one of my fears and since storage and trunk space is not a premium I am back to my original Twin choice. If only I knew what my toddler would prefer (if only he knew what he would prefer) when he becomes a big brother.

@mrs.kiwi thanks, I am happy to hear that you love it. We do unfortunately primarily use the stroller around the house which makes the jogging features more appealing. I am sure when I load it to go to the zoo or beach, I will remember how big it is.

I regret the Cruz purchase, I agonized over it for months and still found that we went straight to the Bob once we got it. The Cruz is a glorified/heavy snap-n-go for us  . Hopefully I don't have the same feeling on the double front!

@MACSUNSHINE: I got a regular bumbleride for my second who is currently 4m and my oldest is 3. I thought since he was in the older side, and especially since he was a stroller hater almost since birth, I’d be good with a skateboard attachment. Well, any time I try to put baby in the stroller and have my son ride the board, it’s a negotiation drama cause he’s suddenly dying to sit in the stroller! I think if you are walking from your house s lot, I would go for whater will keep two comfortable and is nice to push. We live in an urban suburb type area but it’s heaven pushing the bumbleride down my bumpy driveway!

@JUSTJULES thanks! How big is your DS? I'm just concerned that he will outgrow it too quick.

@SWEETIEPIE we already have a cruz, I could not stomach the vista for my first, in hindsight maybe a mistake. We live on a dirt road though so for our walks I do prefer the all terrain tires and I just think kids are more comfortable side by side vs tandem.

I may just wait and see, I do like to baby wear a lot in the early months so that could work with the Bob until I see how much my son is actually riding. So many decisions!

I know that a lot of moms in my area have been waiting and waiting for this and it was just released. It’s more of a travel/compact stroller but if you are in a suburban/rural area and plan to use it for walks and zoo trips this might be sufficient. The big tires/full sized strollers are great for the city since they are our primary mode of transportation, but if I was in the suburbs I would get rid of my full sized beast (Vista) in a heart beat.

I was torn between these exact two strollers as well! The I liked the colors of the indie but ultimately went with the MB duet because I really liked the carry cot feature where the second seat could face you. I've been happy with the duet so far. DS is almost 28mo and DD 9mo both ride fine in it. It's heavy but not as bulky as some doubles.

Any experience? I am debating if I even need a double but frankly I think we do and we hope to have more children. I have a Nuna Pipa so need a double that is compatible with that so unfortunately a Bob is out.

I prefer all terrain and was set on the Twin since my son will be 2.5 and is above the 95 percentile for height and weight so I think the Duet is just too narrow however who knows how long/often he will actually ride. The features of the Duet are appealing for that reason.

Can you tell I'm indecisive? I can wait until baby arrives and see what we need but I really want to ensure I can get walking as soon as I feel up for it. Any others we should consider? I prefer side by side, we live in a rural setting and plan to use for walks and zoo trips, etc.
