@junebugsmama: @Mrs. Sunshine: @gotkimchi:
Thanks! Just spoke to ped and she said it may be some sort of bacterial infection but nothing to be worried about. Said to try antibacterial soap and bacitracin (sp?) and to come in if it changes for the worse.

ETA: and now that I've googled it I see that's just neosporin. :silly:

My kiddo gets them too!! At times he's had way more and I'll try different creams, but usually just a few that come and go. The creams never seemed to make a difference.

@Mrs. Sunshine: yeah so sometimes I do think they go away but then they almost always reappear within 24 hours. I think they are always there but a lot less red so I don't notice them.
I also ignored them for a while because (also tmi) my husband gets pimples on his butt so I also thought maybe it was just skin issues. But now I'm wondering if it's something more since it's so recurrent.

My youngest gets bumps like this often but they usually appear and then disappear very quickly. At the risk of sharing TMI, I often have issues with the skin on my butt so I never thought much of hers, I thought it was just hereditary. But maybe it's something I should look into a little more.

@gotkimchi: interesting! I'll have to inspect them closer and see if I can find a "dimple" in the middle of the bumps. Thanks this is not one I had considered!

My 2yo has had these pimple like bumps on his butt for at least a month now. Maybe more. They don't seem to bother him at all.
They aren't as noticeable as this throughout the day but in the bath they get redder like this.
I've tried lotrimin in case it was a fungal rash. I tried cortisone in case it was related to eczema. Nothing has worked.

I'm going to call the ped today but wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas first.
