Ours can also come apart to become individual beds, too.</p> <p>We did look into the cheaper ones, but the wood felt flimsy. Also, we figured with boys, they may be rough with it. I'm considering getting my girls a bunk bed for Christmas either this year or next (depending on how the toddler does in her crib...our younger had to move into a bed ~20 months because she kept escaping her crib and it was dangerous--yes, I know this is controversial). There is such a huge range in cost of bunk beds, from around $200 to over $800. I'm so tempted by the less expensive ones but also concerned about quality. Does anyone have experience with the more affordable ones, or recommendations for a specific bunk bed? Thank you! </p>
