@Reese: you're totally fine. And you remind me of ME when I was pregnant! I was too paranoid to even burn scented candles. For real. Haha!

I think you're fine! It wasn't for very long at all.

When I was about 5 weeks pregnant I was at a conference in Iceland and one of the organized activities was a "walk" that turned out to be the most intense, arduous hikes ice ever been on. I fell down severAl times, was so out of breath my lungs ached, and was panicking that it was too much for the baby. Lo is now almost 9 months old and super healthy :)

I think you did the right thing minimizing your exposure and probably have nothing to worry about! I would've worried about the same thing w my first pregnancy! You are a great mama!

I mean, I think you were right to be concerned at the time and leave the house, but I certainly don't think you should worry anymore!

@jhd: haha oh my gosh, pregnancy really does make you crazy. I was googling a storm and couldn't find anything concrete - aside from repeated exposure stories.

@getjazzy: thanks :bummed: so hard not to worry.

@Reese: I'm sure baby is just fine! But I'm sure that smell was awful, especially while pregnant! Not the same, but one night I ate several chips ahoy cookies and then convinced myself something was wrong with the cookies and I had harmed my unborn baby. By the time DH got home I was a wreck, sobbing and inconsolable. LO is just fine! ;) Long story short I was worried about crazier things than this. I can see why you would be worried but I am sure everything is just fine.

I don't have any great advice...except that pregnancy nose is real! I'm sure any damage done was to your sensibilities and not to your LO!

I normally don't post threads but I need your opinion on this and I need to know if I am being paranoid.

On Christmas Eve we were at my brothers place having dinner (parents, cousins, etc). After dinner my aunt put the electric kettle on the stove to make some tea. She turned the stove ON to heat the kettle. Needless to say she went in to go check on the kettle and it was bubbling/melting. The house Started to smell. I am 13 weeks pregnant. I stood around for maybe 10 minutes before putting my jacket on and going out on the porch because I did t want to inhale the fumes. You could still smell it outside because they had all of the windows and doors open. My family is then telling me to come BACK inside so I don't get sick. Umm no, it reeks! We left to go back to my parents place right after. In total I was probably exposed for about 25 minutes (including being outside). Do you think I should be concerned? The smell was burned in our nose driving to my parents place but went away by the time we arrived. Am I concerned for no reason? I don't know what I could have done differently aside from getting outside faster and maybe further away from the house (it was raining).

Any help, support, you are being crazy, I did this crazy thing while pregnant and everything was OK stories are appreciated
