I would use a carrier (Ergo) as would my husband, but I think your husband should figure out what works best for himself. I think the snap n go would work fine, but I prefer the Ergo, especially with an older child.

Either carrier, or avoiding the bus at all costs :silly: The drivers around here will force you to hold the baby and fold the stroller even when the bus is empty. I still can't figure out how you're supposed to do that with only two hands, while getting yelled at by the driver.

Extra bonus points for drivers who want the stroller folded before you even get on the bus. Like, where am I supposed to put the baby while I'm folding it? On the ground?

We have a similar walk to the bus stop. I usually put baby in the stroller for the walk, I toss the backpack in the stroller cargo area and head off. I guess I could babywear but my baby is pretty happy to play with toys, look around, and my oldest likes to hold her hand in the stroller, especially when he hasn’t seen her all day!

Can't you just drop the seat on the Britax so it's reclined? And maybe get a nice muff-the bunting kind that lets you still buckle baby in. I'd baby wear, but my kids' dad would not. .

I have 3 to walk for drop off and pick up at school. I do a combo of babywearing and stroller depending on the day, if she’s about to go to sleep, etc. I would not just carry the baby in my arms that far. DD1 always needs help for something and I need a free hand or two.

Stroller. I never loved Baby wearing and our stroller accommodated infants.

@mediagirl: my kids were both mostly too big for the bassinet attachment on the stroller not long after 3 months, so that seems like a pretty short-term solution. one of my kids also hated the bucket seat so I'd personally wait and see and let your husband figure it out once you know your baby's preferences. and echoing others above, my husband wore my kids longer than I did - we have a beco gemini which he loved and ended up being the expert on (he taught me and our nanny how to maneuver it).

@mediagirl: My LO loves his carseat attached to the stroller via adapter, even now that he's 8 months. So I'm sure that could work well...We never tried a bassinet as I was trying to minimize on gear... but he was a reflux baby who loved the more inclined position of the car seat anyways...

Out school parking is insane so we park in a parking lot and walk. I leave the baby in the car seat because we’ve already driven there and he’s usually sleeping by then. You might have to wait and see what the baby likes best. This one isn’t super into the bassinet but sleeps like a dream in the car seat or carrier.

@mediagirl: you may have him try it! My husband was super hesitant about baby wearing but he ended up wearing our son longer than I did! But anyway, I think a bassinet is also a great option too!

It's going to be my husband after 3 months and I'm not sure how comfortable he is going to be with baby wearing without help getting things on and off (he's a big guy and not very limber).

I was thinking of getting a used bassinet attachment for our stroller that we could put the baby into for walks around the neighborhood and for the bus stop walks. It would make it easier on him after I'm back at work...

I’d babywear also until the infant was big enough for a non car seat stroller (maybe 3-4 months?) but I tend to have small infants so baby wearing is easy for the first few months.

Our preschool was half a mile away so on mat leave I would use the ergo if he needed to nap or the stroller if he was awake.

We walk my 1st grader to school about quarter to half a mile. I have to take all 3 kids so I use the car seat snapped into our city mini, and 3yo walks. It’s easy because I already have the car seat in the house usually. She likes the solly carrier also but it’s still hot and humid here, plus it takes me an extra minute I don’t always have!

ETA I probably couldn’t use a snap n go because I’m not sure I could steer it one handed.

Agree, babywear, weather permitting. Otherwise I’d go with whatever seems the most comfortable - maybe not a car seat, but a stroller seat reclined or with a bassinet snapped in (is that an option with any of them?)

Say you have a child in school and an infant. Twice a day you have to get to the bus stop with the smallest child and you walk - it's about 1/4 mile to the bus stop.

What would your preferred method of transportation for the infant be?

Car seat in stroller? Bassinet of some sort? Just carry the baby? Something else?

We already have 3 strollers - a Britax B-Agile , umbrella stroller and Chicco keyfit snap n go (our new to us infant carseat is a Chicco)
