Personally I found it to be expensive so I didn't buy anything from Etsy. I think most people either don't have a lot of money to put towards these types of parties or want to do it themselves vs a wedding where you go all out. You could choose a single item, or bunch things together for a discount. Like say you are doing a monkey theme and you want invites and a bingo game card to match, instead of paying for each item seperately, you get a 5-10% discount for adding things on. Personally I find etsy hard to wade through the available options and it's overload for me.</p> <p>@artbee: I was thinking about doing wedding showers too, but I wouldn't ever want to do bachelorette parties, and there are a lot of birthday services here too. </p> <p>I did post on a mom to mom thing for our area to see what they said and they said pretty much the same thing, they prefer to do it themselves. I do know plenty of people that don't have time or just don't like planning that would love to hire someone to do it for them.</p> <p>Have you thought about expanding it to more than just baby showers? I see it as kind of a way to show your affection for the guest of honor.</p> <p>But you might be able to work with your idea by having a website or etsy shop for the different items you're describing - invites, thank yous, decorations, game packs, diaper cakes, homemade baby items. Of course there would be different packages available and everything completely costumizable. Kind of like a party planner mixed with a graphic designer I guess, but just for baby showers, supplies, gifts, etc. (I wouldn't be planning per say, more so designing invites, making decorations, games, diaper cakes... Working with ladies who know what they want but don't have time to do it really.)</p> <p>Would you use this for a friend's baby shower, or would I be wasting my time? </p> <p>I'm in Ottawa if there's anyone from here who has a little more input on the area! </p>
