Lol, poor Olive! We never used a swing, but DD started using the jumperoo around 4 months. She loved it, and I hope DS likes it half as much as she did!

A little embarrassing, but up until pretty recently, LO still enjoyed swing time. Ours has the straps for around his waist and the ones that go over his shoulders so we luckily didn't have problems with him flopping out.

We also got probably a solid 5 months out of the exersaucer. He loved the thing, I just wish they weren't so huge to store for future kids.

We haven't used the swing in a good 2 months (retired around 4 months) which is when we started using the jumperoo. She didn't need the extra support or anything so we figured we were golden. We started using her walker around 5 months, she loves that too. I'm looking at getting an Around We Go for my Mom's house so we don't have to keep hauling gear around in the back of the car!!

DS never liked the swing. Luckily, I bought one used for $40. He hardly used it at all. He loves his jumperoo though! We've been using it since he was around 6 months. It's definitely a must-have in our house!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: she sat up in the swing and must have been wiggling around and fell off the side! luckily the buckles kept her strapped in so she didn't fall on the ground.

we have a jumperoo and exersaucer, and charlie was able to use the jumperoo first (around 5 months ish), but loved the exersaucer longer.

Aww, poor Olive!! How the heck did she turn herself upside down?!

We built the Jumperoo shortly after St. Patrick's Day, so little Jumper was only 5 months old. It took her a good week to figure it out, but she gets such a kick out of jumping now! It's fun to see her play :)

We barely used our swing, but the Jumperoo, that was gold! We started well after 6 months though, when he didn't need to be supported with a towel around him to "hold" him in there.

OMG! So sad for little Olive (but I giggled, too)! Unfortunately (or, fortunately, depends on you see it), LO never took to the swing at all. Like, AT ALL. She has sat in it content maybe 4 times in her almost-9-month life. Sheesh. But, we started putting her in her exersaucer when she was 4.5 months old and she LOVED it (until this month...She hates it and cries every time she's in it because she would rather be crawling around). She never got the hang of the jumperoo - we tested it out at my friend's house and LO just sit there, totally confused about what she was supposed to do. LOL.

We never used a jumperoo/exersaucer and used the swing until he was around 4 months old. I know what you mean about the hanging upside thing. I saw my son do that once and it freaked me out. He didn't cry or anything but he was just hanging there and I jumped! Not the prettiest sight!

We had to retire the baby swing this weekend! I fell asleep on the floor next to the swing with Olive in it, and I woke up to her cries because she was dangling completely upside down from the swing!

She was too small for the exersaucer 2 weeks ago, but when we put her in it this weekend, she loved it! She's a big girl now (at 6 1/2 months) rolling every which way. Ah they grow up too fast.

When did you LO outgrow the swing and start using an exersaucer/jumperoo?
