We also did lots of skin-to-skin (which is the most delicious thing in the world anyway!) and I'm sure that helped. I was so worried that having a Csection would compromise our chances at successful breastfeeding but turns out that was really unfounded. I never went into labor at all. We had just about everything going against us possible, c-section, I had to EP, an 11 week NICU stay, didn't see my son for hours after birth etc and I actually had an over supply. My milk came in on day 3. I had latch issues (we resolved this pretty quick but it was hard and had to use a nipple shield for 7 months) but never any supply issues. My milk came exactly 3 days after. My milk came in no problem on day 2. I had no issues with supply during the time I pumped (LO never would latch, so I was exclusively pumping and eventually switched to formula) </p> <p>My coworker just had her second section, and her daughter is breastfeeding wonderfully, she had a hard time with her son and was nervous going into it, but she sends me pictures of a very happy and full baby, her milk came in right away. I had an emergency c-section with my son and since my body was going through labor I feel like that helped my milk come in etc. Now we have a repeat c-section in Feb and I am concerned if my body doesn't start labor there is a chance my milk won't come in. I was able to breastfeed my son for 12-13 months and am really hoping for a similar experience with our daughter... </p> <p>Anyone have any experiences to share? Thank you!!! </p>
