I'm only 6 days out from #2, but this has been super easy! My pain level is almost nothing and I'm considerably more mobile. Sleeping is still challenging and I'm still retaining fluids. But overall, #2 is so much easier on me.

My recovery was super smooth with #1 (scheduled c-section). I'm a little worried because when we have a second, I'll have a toddler at home, but I'm definitely going for a RCS.

Surgery and recovery were definitely easier the first time. Probably because I didn't have a toddler at home.

My first one was emergency after 24 hours of labor and second was planned, but I found my second one to be MUCH harder. My incision took way longer to heal and had some bleeding along the way. I suspect it was because I did too much physically while taking care of my toddler, but it's pretty hard not to! My first recovery was a breeze, so I really wasn't anticipating how difficult it ended up being the second time around.

@Becksabee: I wonder if it's more the planned/not planned distinction, rather than first/second.

My daughter (only kid so far) was breech so I had a scheduled c-section and my recovery was really smooth.

My sis had an emergency csection with her first and a tough recovery, but things went much better with her second (planned csection).

Did anyone else have a much easier time on their second c-section than first?

First time around, they tried to induce me for nearly 2 days (epic fail) and then I had a c-section. Recovery time was very long and I ended up with a staph infection. This time, I had a scheduled c-section. I was up and walking in less than 24 hours and at 4 weeks postpartum, I'm nearly 100% already.
