My DD is 4 weeks old, and I had an elective c-section (she was breech). My doctor used dissolvable stitches and steri-strips.

I never felt like I had any numbness around the incision site, although the actual incision itself feels a bit "funny" (but I wouldn't call it numb).

My DS is 8 years old and I still can't feel anything! I had massive complications with my c-section though, so that may be part of the reason. Although- my mother is still numb in that area as well and my youngest brother turns 18 next week!

My son is 7 months old and I don't notice any numbness. I'm honestly kind of creeped out by touching my scar, though, so I could be wrong. The stitched me on the inside and used staples on the outside.

I haven't had a c-section, but I did have an abdominal scar revision in 2003 (to correct a bad incision from an appendectomy in 1995). I'd never even thought about testing it before, but reading this, I felt along my incision and it's numb. It's never occurred to me to see if I had feeling there before.

My DS is 10 months old, and my incision area is still numb in certain areas. Sometimes, I feel slight pain (like a needle stabbing me), but it doesn't last too long. The doctors used glue to close me up.

The line is numb but around it has a weird feeling (not totally normal). I had staples like Livsmama that they took out 2 days afterwards.

Liv is about to be 4 months old and the incision is definitely not as numb as it was. Actually none of it is except the very center. I had staples for 2 days, then they removed them and put on the steri strips for 2 weeks.

My DD is 8 weeks old, and I have some feeling, but it's definitely not back to normal. At my 6 week pp check up the doctor said it takes about a year to gain full feeling back in that area. So definitely takes quite some time. At least it's not painful anymore...that's the way I look at it :)

"yea... still numb... WAIT *push push push* WOW I can feel it again!"

LOL.... it does eventually get feeling back, just takes a loooong time. And then it's in certain spots and such until it ALL back to "normal" =)

@runsyellowlites: Wow, that's a long time, but also encouraging. My friend had a c-section 2 years ago and I asked her recently if she was still numb and she said she was. It's good to know the nerves eventually grow back.

DS is 7 and it was just recently that I realized I wasn't numb in spots anymore.

It took quite awhile for the nerves to grow back and me get full feeling again..... I had staples.

I was wondering if anyone had a c-section and how long did it take for you to heal and not feel numb anymore? Also, did you have staples or did they use the glue?

It's been 4 months for me and i still feel numb where my incision is. They used the glue on me w/ stitches on the inside and my incision looks really good, just still numb and tingly.
