@debbiei8: I had more tugging and pain on one side of my incision and the nurses said the pain is usually worse on the side that the doctor was standing on. Random info but it was true for me!

Everything is good! I popped it open but only the top layer of skin. I have powder and gauze to put on it until it heals. She swabbed it for infection and srnt it off but she said it didn't look infected. I go back next week for my regular 6 week PP appt and they'll recheck it.

And I got a prescription to take it easy. Ugh. I'm tired of taking it easy!!

I hope it turns out ok! I'm terrified of this happening (1 week PP) to my incision. Like I didn't want them to take the bandage off because I was so freaked out about it. Mine pulled apart a bit to drain while I was in the hospital. My mom said it's normal but the scar will be worse on that side. I get a lot of burning and tugging on that side though when I get out of bed sometimes so I'm totally worried about it opening up. I guess I just need to remember to take it easy!

@Danizaur: I hope you are okay. This happened to me. I went to my ob. She stuffed the opening part with (hurt like a B!) and gave me antibiotics. It took much longer for me tho heal because I over did it. It sucks just sitting around doing nothing and lifting nothing but really try not to over do it too much. Take care of yourself.

Yes call! I'm sure it's not a big deal but incisions, especially abdominal ones, can be tricky. It's just God to make sure that only the skin opened and not any muscle underneath. At work, I often see abdominal wounds left partially open to drain and heal that way so I don't want you to worry. A dab of neosporin couldn't hurt and a loose bandage of gauze and tape if you have it. Otherwise a large bandaid is good just to protect it.

I had abdominal surgeries when I was a kid, so my c-section incision kinda criss-crossed a vertical scar I already had. About 2 weeks after my c-section, it started oozing (ew, sorry, so gross!). I went to my OB and he said that there was less blood flow in that one spot, so it wasn't healing correctly. He gave me an antibiotic and told me to put honey directly on it (natural antiseptic apparently). Within a week, it was all better! (Having DH put honey on my incision was prettyyy weird...)

So yes, I would definitely call! They may have you go in so they can check it out, but I hope everything is ok!

I had a similar issue, I put a dab of neosporin on the unsealed spot and it was fine. I never had my dr look at it, but peace of mind never hurts. Hopefully everything is okay!

Definitely call your doctor in the morning! I didn't have any bleeding at my incision site and definitely would have called my doctor if i did. I'm sure everything is ok, but better have them take a look at it in the morning

I think I may have popped my incision open. I was trying to get the car seat out of the base by myself today and struggled and I think I overdid it. I just noticed some blood in my underwear that lined up with my incision so I had DH check and sure enough, he said there's a small quarter inch part that isn't "sealed" together right where the blood was in my underwear. It was only a teensy amount but it's the first bleeding I've had from the incision. It burns a bit now too.

I'm going to call my doctor first thing in the morning (it's 10pm here) but I was wanting to know if anyone had any experience! I don't know if it's from pulling too hard on the car seat (I REALLY overdid it. I remember thinking in the moment I should take it easy...but I wasn't about to let that damned car seat win. Even though it did anyway. Lol) but it would make sense.
