@Happygal: I would say by 8 weeks PP it started to feel less sensitive to being touched on my incision (by clothes as well as my kicking son!). I distinctly remember squeezing into my regular jeans at 6 weeks PP and feeling great about them fitting...but the incision pain was still there so I didn't wear them for a while. I'm now 13 weeks PP and wearing everything I did pre-pregnancy without any pain. As an aside, the nerves around the scar are super strange now-I can't feel anything around the area, and my OB said I won't until about 6-8 months PP. It's a strange sensation!

I wore the belly binder they gave me in the hospital for weeks after labor under my clothes, so I think it prevented me from feeling much irritation. Plus I wore a lot of yoga pants that folded on top, maxi skirts and maternity leggings, so there wasn't a lot tight pressing up against my scar.

I haven't had this, but haven't worn much other than yoga pants. I'm in regular jeans today at six weeks pp and am feeling ok.

@Happygal: I couldn't get the car seat unhooked out of the base (new mom probs) and I fought and pulled with it out of frustration. I way overdid it.

I don't remember this being an issue....probably because I wore maternity jeans for like 3 months pp! I didn't fit into any of my prepreg stuff and wasn't ready to accept i had to buy bigger sizes. By the time i did, i guess it was less sensitive.

@Danizaur: owwwww . How did that happen? It's a good reminder to continue to take it easy.

@wonderstruck: going to check it out on Amazon right now!

I'm jealous of the summer moms and the maxi dresses! That would be really nice right now.

@Happygal: We're delivery date buddies and my incision is still sore when I try to wear jeans and sit down. If I remember with my last one, it took a month or so?

The first time around I had my baby in May, so I got away with maxi dresses for a long time. But this time I had to find something to wear under pants because it took a long time for my incision to stop being so sensitive. I ended up buying something called a c-panty (I'm sure you can find it on Amazon or wherever.) It looks almost like shapewear, but on the inside there is a silicone piece that covers where your scar is to keep it from getting irritated or being in pain when your clothes press/rub on that spot. It worked very well for me!

I don't remember, but I do remember wearing over the belly jeans, yoga pants, and maxi dresses a lot in the beginning.

I can't remember exactly when I was really comfortable with clothing against my incision, but I remember wearing the belly band for a loooong time after. I gave birth in summer, so it was easy to wear dresses (what I mainly wear anyways), and that's definitely what I preferred to wear after Lo's birth, for at least a month or more.

About 6 weeks or so. It would have been earlier but I popped my incision at 4 weeks so I had to heal a little longer. Still now at almost a year PP I don't like clothes to rub against it though. But that's a mental thing more than physical. Lol

I delivered on January 22nd and my incision is healing nicely. It's still pretty sensitive though, so I'm really limited in my clothing options. Maternity pants tend to hit right at the incision spot, and pre-pregnancy jeans are still a bit too tight.

If you had a c-section, when did your incision area stop being so sensitive? Did you pad the area with something so you could wear pants other than yoga/lounge wear? I'm tired of feeling frumpy all the time and need some tips!
