I took T3's and ibuprofen (600mg), alternating so I took one or the other every 3 hours, and I did that for a week, then I dropped the T3's and took tylenol and ibuprofen on the same schedule for another week, then stopped everything. I had staples that were removed at 5 days pp, they never hurt and didn't hurt when they were removed. With the pain control I was on, and following my restrictions religiously (max 30 mins activity at a time, followed by 1 hour rest, no lifting more than 10 lbs ever, etc) I never had pain after the second day post partum. I resumed full activity at 6 weeks post partum,.

I took percocet while I was in the hospital (5 days) and then just ibuprofen when I got home. I was pretty sore following the c-section and it was easier for me to literally fall out of bed than it was to actually get myself into a sitting up position. My pain lasted about 10 days and after that I was fine. I started running at 6 weeks and it felt great, no pain at all.

I took percocet and 800mgs of Motrin every 4 hours for the 1 st week. I then went down to half of a Percocet and the motrin for about another week. Then it was just Motrin for a while. I'm like @mrsjazz and 9 weeks postpartum am still pretty sore. I don't take Motrin every day, but i still do sometimes. And I'm always sore to the touch. My skin even hurts around the entire area from my belly button down. I pretty much feel like someone has punched my lower belly most days. It's not pleasant.

While in the hospital I was given Motrin and Percocet every 4-6 hours even though I didnt think I needed it. Apparently my pain tolerance is high, but my BP would spike back up if I didnt take it because my body recognized the pain as stress or something. Anyways, when I got home, I took Ibuprofen (800mg) every 6 hours or so just for my BP. I only ended up needed the Percocets once, because I was doing things for my MIL and overdid it (yeah, thats a whole separate story...) When I would get sore, Id rest for a bit. But truthfully, my recovery was easy. More sore muscle feeling than actual pain. Id say I stopped taking meds after a week at home, and I was totally pain free by 4 weeks. Also keep in mind I had no labor before my section, so my recovery might be a bit easier than someone who labored first

While I was in the hospital (c-section friday evening, discharged monday at noon) I was given oxycodone and ibuprofen every 6 hours. I don't know the dose on the oxy, but it was super low (I've taken oxy before for dental work, and usually it makes me feel buzzed, with this dose I felt nothing). They gave me Rx for both drugs which I've used over the past 2 weeks. Now, 2 weeks out from delivery, I just take 3 advil twice a day, which seems to be enough.

I had staples with my incision, and it didn't hurt to get them removed. After that, just steri-strips.

I was up and walking around my hospital room the morning after the c-section, and was able to shower the next day.

Pretty much the only time I'm sore now is when I lay down at night to sleep - and it's hard to tell whether that's from general being worn out, or from the c-section itself.

I took 800mg ibuprofen for two weeks after the section. I don't think my experience is the norm from what I've read, but I still have pain 2 months later. Getting out of bed still kind of hurts a little, and I'm usually sore after a walk outside or carrying groceries, so I am still taking over the counter Motrin.

I took Percocet and Advil. I took the Percocet for maybe a week and a half and the Advil for a few weeks. I didnt have a whole lot of pain after getting home from the hospital but I'd get sore if I did too much lifting. I'm 4 wks now and just got some soreness again - I think from bouncing LO on the exercise ball non stop (it's the only thing that quiets her).

I took a combo of Norco and Motrin and did so for about two weeks.

Like @sandy the gas was horrible one night!

I definitely had to take it easy. For weeks if I carried things that were too heavy or did too much I paid the price by being so sore later.

I can't remember the exact dosage but I took Tylenol with codeine...I think every 4 hours but after one week or less I was only taking it needed.

I didn't have any staples - just dissolvable stitches and steri-strips so my incision was not painful and healed well.

Like you, I felt great physically but if I tried to walk a lot or fast then I would feet kind of sore at the end of the day. I had to force myself to take it easy. My husband constantly has to tell me not to pick up anything heavier than the baby...he didn't want me carrying the laundry basket even though I felt fine.

Honestly the most painful part for me was gas...which i guess is commin after a csectuon...the nurses told me to walk a lot and drink warm liquids...I was almost in tears a few times during the middle of the night and it was just built up gas in my tummy.

Overall my recovery was so easy that I am tempted to just have another csection for #2

This is day 5 after the c-section and was feeling good enough this morning to switch to 1 ibuprophen (800mg) every 8 hours. I was feeling so good in fact that I decided to shower, shave, go outside and to two different stores. Now I am feeling a bit sore again and therefore have retired to my recliner. Would anyone like to share their c-section recovery experiences with me? How much of what kind of pain meds did you take and how
often?
