I agree with what some others said that I was so much more sore with my second cs than my first. I want to say around week 8-10 I started feeling more normal! I didn’t have steri-strips, so I can’t speak to that, but I definitely had the soreness and sensitivity for awhile!

I’m just one week out from my second so the steri-strips are still on. I have a follow up appointment next week and I think they’ll take them off for me then which I don’t really want them to do just yet! Eee 😬
But yea I was told that otherwise I’d need to take them off and just do a few at a time since they’d probably not just all fall off by themselves.

Regarding pain, after my first c-section I took ibuprofen for a while. If I was still in pain I’d still be taking ibuprofen. I don’t mean the random sharp pains or like if you sneeze but otherwise I’m going to keep taking it.

What I had forgotten about was the numbness! That stayed around forever 😜

I had my second c 4.5 weeks ago and I am not wearing real pants yet...still in maternity leggings and giant grandma underwear so nothing is on my incision. The incision itself has finally started to not give me any kind of twinges or pain this week but the skin below my belly button is very sensitive, hence the high waisted pants/underwear. I thought this recover was easier than my first, but I have a toddler this time around so I know I definitely overdid it at times. I am also still having some bleeding/spotting.

I pulled the steristrips off at 2.5 weeks and didn't have an issue. My dr told me they could come off at 2 weeks.

The second C-section was way worse than the first. I'm not sure if it's because they are going through the same incision and there's already scar tissue there or what. But the top layer of skin for my incision opened up, and it was super painful. They replaced the strips and they were on for about 5 weeks. I wasn't in real pants again until at least 8 weeks...it was just super sore and sensitive. Give yourself some more time!

My tape was like 5 weeks. I didn't pick at it at all though.

At three weeks I was still sore - I think around 5-6 it was much better.

I know at one month post c section my older son was sick and I scooped him up to carry him into the doctor and it was painful but manageable.

I don't remember anything about the tape - I remember they had me take the gauze off after 24 hours and I think that was it? But I do know that at 3 weeks out I was still in yoga pants.

It’s been 3.5 years since my last CS and I swear I’ve blocked it from my memory (for many reasons).

How long did it take for incision pain to be gone?
How long did your steri-tape stay on (if you had it)?

I’m 3 weeks postpartum and still feel incision pain (discomfort) and cant wear real pants. Steritape is still on too. - all of it! I’m waiting for my plastic surgeon friend to reply about that but curious what other experiences were while I wait.
