I was surprised, because my baby (obviously) doesn't eat sweets at all at 1 year--we didn't even give her own birthday cake. And we reallllllly limit sugary foods for my 3 year old, so she doesn't like many sweets. If you give her a cupcake, she'll lick off half the frosting and leave the rest. She's not into cake at all.</p> <p>BUT, at our party--all the other parents were letting their kids have whatever and *many* kids had a mini cupcake, a macaron, AND a slice of cake!
