@winniebee: excellent news!

Just wanted to add that my daughter also had a heart calcification in her 20 week and 32 week ultrasounds. She had no other markers for downs, so my OB wasn't concerned at all. LO is now a very healthy 2 month old.

Just saw this now -- I think that might be one of the two abnormalities that came up at our anatomy scan. It went away on its own by the time we had a repeat scan w/ a perinatologist. Our bloodwork was just fine, like yours. We now have one of the healthiest toddlers I have ever met.

**** update

Great news on blood draws. Risks of downs, open neural tube, and trisomy 18 are all less than 1 in 10,000 which is considered a negative result and which is much lower risk than my age puts me at. Based on this, the heart calcification is really deemed a non issue. I will have another ultrasound in a few weeks anyways after our move back east (tomorrow!) to monitor my cervical length anyways. This is such a relief!

DS had this at our anatomy scan, along with two other soft markers for Down syndrome. We did the Materniti21 test and the results were negative. Nothing else was ever mentioned about the heart calcification and he's perfectly healthy at 23 months. I hope you get the test results and some peace of mind soon. The waiting was so hard for us.

Yes, I remember something like this happened. But since all my other tests were fine, the doctor didn't worry (her own son had it too). Told me they outgrow it, but sent me to an u/s specialist anyway. That doctor also said there was nothing to worry about it and it went away.

My LO had this. It disappeared by 22 weeks (spotted at 20 weeks). My dr said it is nothing to be concerned about if it's isolated. Don't google ;)

My LO had this too and it turned out to be nothing. The docs were concerned because the anatomy scan also showed several cysts in the brain, so they recommended the MaterniT21 blood test, which we did. If it had just been either the heart thing or the brain thing, they wouldn't have recommended any additional testing and wouldn't have been concerned at all.

My understanding is that one soft marker is basically nothing to worry about if everything up until this point has been normal.

My oldest had one, because of how late in the game we found out about the pregnancy we hadn't done any testing. They sent me to a specialist and they wanted to do more testing. It turned out to be nothing and he is perfect twelve years later :)

Yes! My LO had this at the 20 week ultrasound. It scared me pretty badly, even though there were no other signs of anything being wrong. We chose not to have any additional testing done and just wait and see how things turned out. As my pregnancy went on I felt peaceful that no matter what happened things would be ok. Sure enough our baby boy is perfectly healthy, praise God!
My dr actually encouraged me to read about this white spot on Google as you will find many positive stories when that is the only marker present. My dr told me she was required to tell me what they saw but that the spot is so common, she wished they didn't have to bring it up.

DS had one too (at 20 week and 24 week ultrasound). They said it was pretty common and they see it a lot. I don't remember exactly what their reasoning was but I know because they didn't see anything else and my NT scan was totally fine they were not worried at all. And he is happy and healthy!
