I think it's one of those toys she will enjoy more as she gets older. I think the Lil' Woodzees look more younger-kid friendly (rounded edges, etc), while the calico critters are geared more to a little older. I have a few families from when I was little (I think they were sylvanian families then?) And lo loves them! I bought her a few families on Zulily for Christmas and I might look for a house too. I've never seen the brand from target but I'll check it out. Own these? Used to own these? I used to have Calico Critters when I was younger but my parents got rid of them. I looked them up and they are pretty pricey but Target has their brand called L'il Woodzeez that are much more affordable. I know LO1 would love these and was thinking of getting her a set for Christmas. I am curious about the quality of the "off brand" ones, and also wondering if any other stores carry a similar idea. </p>
