I’ve actually never heard of this until this thread but today was at a wedding with some old college friends who recently moved to California and were complaining about this warning and how it’s everywhere there.

@Mrsbells: So interesting to see this feedback’ I’m an environmental lawyer and do some prop 65 work. It’s so illuminating to hear that people essentially discount it now bc it’s so prevalent!

@MrsBeluga: Yeah it definitely sounds like it has become redundant and that no one pays much attention to them

That warning is everywhere in California. It’s in every building on everything you buy. It’s so over used it’s lost it’s purpose.

@KT326: @SproutBee: wow ok. I wonder how they think its useful to label every single thing as cancer causing without any specifics

@KT326: completely agree. It’s posted in every Starbucks, every parking garage... so now I can’t leave my house, park my car, or drink coffee?! 🙄

ETA: probably not safe in my house either given I’m typing this on my cell phone. Basically we’re all screwed. Thanks for the warning CA!

Native Californian here. We have this warning on everything. I pretty much ignore it.

I ordered a freezer off Amazon because my stash of breastmilk is taking over my current freezer. I was excited when it showed up but it has a prop 65 sticker and says may expose to lead and bpa. I'm so confused with these California warnings. I thought products with lead and bpa are no longer allowed to be on the market?
