We make cut outs (like the kind you stick your head through) at work (I work at a tourist attraction) and this is how we make the design, then i hand paint the details. </p> <p>I've never worked on anything as large as your wall, but close. It took me 2 work days to complete one large rectangle cut out, but I was doing a little bit of my regular work in between. Unfortunately I didn't get paid any extra since I was on the clock! I personally would charge $300 or $350 to cover supplies (it takes a LOT of paint) and hours. I would estimate it would take two or two and a half days (8 hours a day or so) to complete, considering you worked straight through on it. I think I may be low balling you because I am an amateur (although I am pretty good) and I've never actually done this before to that scale. Someone who does these types of things all the time would probably charge more. </p> <p>But my experience is limited. Hope that helps! We want a scene from A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh. I'm planning to pay someone for the entire mural (versus hourly), and have *no* idea what is considered a fair price for the job. Anyone here that's either A) an artist so has perspective on this type of thing or B) had something similar done in your baby's nursery and would feel comfortable sharing what you paid? The wall (or "canvas," I suppose!) is a 10 ft wide by 9 ft tall space.</p> <p>Thanks for your help! </p>
