And, for a long time, I'm been seething over it, trying to find a way to go back and do the things I should have without going bankrupt or losing time. And I've finally accepted it: I can't. That ship has sailed and that's that. And it's okay. The sooner I accept that, the sooner I can stop wasting time and do something else.</p> <p>So, I've been toying with the idea of douling for awhile now. Before even becoming pregnant. And now, after having the baby, and having a student doula by my side (well, for a little bit since she couldn't get there until I was already in transition :P ) I'm thinking about it even more. I just don't know where to start. I've been reading the DONA website, looking at their local workshops, seeing what certification would entail. </p> <p>But I'd like to hear from you! How did you get started? I know I've seen at least one Bee on here who doulas, though I can't, for the life of me remember who. Is it what you thought it would be? Is it something you can actually make money on or is it more of a side gig that you do because you're intrinsically motivated and have heart for it? Or both? I've jumped into things before all willynilly without careful consideration and this certainly isn't something I plan to do again, so I want to gather as much information as possible. :) </p>
