I almost wish we just did it during the day, but I guess doing it from 1-9 helps all the working parents. Every slot I had was FILLED. </p> <p>Nothing crazy happened to me, but a woman tried telling my coworker that the way we teach freshmen how to write a paragraph is wrong, and it's too stifling etc etc. She just wouldn't stop being rude about it! One other parent (of my coworker's student) didn't even talk about her kid...she just cried about her divorce. We stay until 7 pm and I think that's super late. </p> <p>Today we saw a play and one if my students tooted in the quietest part and it was completely on purpose. Most of mine were either the "is-my-child-being-challenged-in-your-class?" types or the slackerish no-show type. I co-taught and one year I had a partner who liked to go on and on about how wonderful the kids were--stuff I knew wasn't completely accurate--so the parents would like her. I felt like the bad guy if I said anything was less than stellar. </p> <p>Can't remember anything too funny. Once a mom asked me if all the girls in my class wore heels (5th grade) because her daughter had said she wanted to because everyone else did.
